submitted to an emergency opera-
tion for appendicitis at the General
Hospital Monday. Her condition is
good.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hughes of
Wilkes-Barre announce the birth of
an 8%-pound baby girl, Lida Jean,
at General Hospital, December 18.
Mrs. Hughes is the former Jessie
Williams of Trucksville.
Dr. C. L. Boston of Noxen spent
Christmas with his son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bos-
ton at Nicholson.

crowd with delicious, crisp, fried
oysters at their supper at the Com-
munity Hall on New Year's eve.

Announcement has been made of
the marriage of Mrs. Alice Hier of
Harvey's Lake, and Willard Race of
Dallas. The ceremony was perform-
ed by Rev. Herbert Frankfort at the
Race home last Saturday afternoon.

Have Baby Girl
Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Ingram of
Idetown announce the birth of an
8-pound baby girl in Nesbitt Hos-
pital on Saturday. This is the In-
gram’s first child. Mother and baby
Judith Emily are ding nicely.

Entertains Ladies’ Aid
At Christmas Meeting
Members of the Glenview Primi-
tive Methodist Ladies’ Aid were en-
tertained at a Christmas party, after
a short business meeting at the
home of Miss Verna Lamoreaux Fri-
day evening. Gifts were exchanged
and a Christmas program presented.
The members of the Aid will meet
in the church parlors on January
16th to sew carpet rags. Present

Layaou, Mrs. Eva Monroe, Miss

The tea table was attractive with

shiny blue and silver Christmas
tree balls. Tall white candles were
