Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Oliver, Shav-
ertown, spent the week-end at
Sweet Valley as guests of the lat-
ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Rood. Mr. and Mrs. Rood will re-
main at their farm for several weeks
and Mr. Rood will go back and forth
to school.
Mrs. Lulu Beisel and Mr. and Mrs. |
Wesley Moore were week-end guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Smith at Lake

Larry Isaacs, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Isaacs, Center Street, Shaver-
town, left Tuesday for Susquehanna
University, where he will enroll in
the freshman class.
Larry will be remembered as
| Salutatorian of the class of 1939 in
Kingston Township High School.
During his school career he was
active in athletics, serving as cap-
tains of the basketball and base-
i ball teams and quarterback on the
| football team. Because of his high
scholastic and athletic records he
[earned a scholarship at Susque-
hanna.

coming term at Wyoming Seminary
| are George Phillips, Hobart Jeter,

Becomes Bride
Laketon Girl Marries
Harold Kline, Kingston
Announcement~Has been made of
the marriage of Miss Adelaide
Hausch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Hausch, Laketon, and Har-
old Kline, Kingston, at Scranton,
Monday, August 28. The couple
were unattended. The bride wore
a Viking blue tailored suit trimmed
with squirrel and gray accessories.
Her shoulder bouquet was of gar-
denias and rosebuds.
Mrs. Kline was graduated from
Laketon High School and Blooms-
burg State Teachers’ College. She
has been employed as teacher in
the Laketon Schools for the past
six years. Mr. Kline is a graduate
of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-
Barre, and Columbia University and
runs his own drug store in Kings-
ton. The couple have just return-
ed from a wedding trip to Niagara |
Falls, Thousands Islands and the
Adirondack and Catskill Mountains.
They will make their home in
Kingston.
Honoring Mrs. Kline, her sister,
Mrs. Raymond Garinger, will en
tertain at a variety shower at her
home in Laketon Saturday after-
noon. Recently, Miss Ruth Jackson
was hostess at a shower for the
bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Lewin and
daughters, Barbara and Joanne,
Mrs. Emma Shaver and Mrs. Har-
riett Stevens of Center Hill Road,
were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Shaver of Philadelphia and Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Marcy of Seaside Heights,
N. J., over the week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Richards,
Church Street, spent the week-end
as the guests of the latter’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Earle Keithline of
Pottsville. Mrs. Richards will leave
on Sunday for Pottsville where she
will spend the week.

Overbrook Avenue have returned to
their home after spending the sum-
mer at their summer home at Han-
cock, N. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal Love of East
Dallas spent the week-end at the
Tunkhannock Fair.
Mrs. Peynton Lee, Machell Ave-
nue, who has been a patient at the
General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre
returned to her home on Sunday.
She is improving.
