Y., formerly of Shav- ertown, visited former neighbors over the week-end. Mrs. Martin Gebhart and son, Lynn, of Lennoxville, formerly of Trucksville, visited friends in the township on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Phillips and daughter, Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Phillips and Mrs. Bert Miller motored to Berwick as guests of Mrs. Cora Richards. Mr. and Mrs. George Hone are motoring in the New England States. Mrs. Donald Anderson of Trucks- ville entertained as house guests for the past week the Misses Ruth and Florence Steinhauer of Wilkes- Barre. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Higgins of Mt. Greenwood entertained Mr. and Mrs. Charles Case and daughter, Sylvania, of Wilkes-Barre during the week. Lauris Graves of East Franklin Street is visiting at Talledega, Ala- bama. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Woolbert of Youngstown, O., are visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Woolbert of Main Street, Shaver- town. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sweezy and daughters, Barbara and Phyllis have returned to their home in Shaver- town following a visit to Reading. Miss Ruth Palmer of Orchard Street, Trucksville, who was taken to the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital for an appendicitis operation, is resting and is reported improving. Mr. and Mrs. James Hutchinson and son, James, of Trucksville vis- ited at Atlantic City over the week- end. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Huff of Kingston were guests Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Huff. Misses Ethel and Alice Vivian of Trucksville returned home follow- ing a week's vacation at Ocean Grove and New York City, and the World's Fair. William Cobleigh, coal dealer of Shavertown, who has been a patient at the Jefferson Hospital, Philadel- phia, for several weeks, has been removed to his home on Main Street. His many friends hope for a speedy recovery. Mrs. Charles Pellow, wife of Rev. Mr. Pellow, pastor of the Glenview P. M. Church, and who is a patient at the General Hospital, Wilkes- Barre, is greatly improved follow- ing an appendectomy. Bible School Class Daily Vacation Bible School clos- ed its summer session on Friday afternoon at Trucksville M. E. Church. Fire Company Begins Improvement At Grounds Trucksville Fire Company has started alterations to the fire hall last evening. Dirt is being dumped along a bank at side of creek, the grounds will be filled and graded, old porches taken down and rebuilt. When the repairs are completed, the building will be repainted. All work is being done by members of the fire company. Many hundreds of dollars is saved the tax payers. Firemen Get Funds Secretaries of the Shavertown and Trucksville relief associations have received word from the Auditor General's office that 1936 allot- ment to the Township supervisors on foreign insurance policies have been mailed, amounting to $185.84, one-half of which is properly as- signed to each relief association. Will Take Air Tests Royal Lyne, Jr., of Harris Hill Road, left for New York Saturday morning, having received instruc- tions from the Examining Board for Air Corps Flying Cadets at Mitchell Field, Long Island, N. Y., to report at the Post Hospital at Mitchell Field Monday morning, July 31, for examination. Mush Ball League Formed The playgrounds at Shavertown have organized an adult mush ball team. Those desiring to play may communicate with Mr. Disque on the playground. Last Friday they played the Trucksville Lions and lost 12 to 6. Games are desired. Please get in touch with Mr. Disque. Luther League Picnic The Luther League of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will hold its pic- nic Friday afternoon and evening at the picnic grounds, Harvey's Lake.
