St. Therese’s Sets
Date For Lawn Fete
Wednesday, July 13, has been set for |
the annual lawn festival and outdoor
supper at St. Therese’s Church, Shav-
ertown. Supper will be served on the
lawn adjacent to the rectory by wo-
men of the parish from 5:30 to 8:30.
Booths will be erected for games and
refreshments. Rev, Harold Durkin is
general chairman and Rev. J. J.
O’Leary is honorary chairman.
TOWNSHIP NOTES
Byron Ide of Trucksville was a re-
cent guest of his grandmother at Leh-
man.
Mr. and Mrs, Morris King and fam-
ily of Shavertown ‘are spending’ the
summer at their farm at Red Rock.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reimiller and
family are spending the summer at
Sandy Beach, Harvey's Lake.
Miss Ruth Perkins, a recent grad-
nate of General Hospital, has passed
the State board examination.
Billy Beck, son of Mr, and Mrs. Har-
ry Beck of Shavertown, underwent an
operation for appendicitis on Thurs-
day.
Mrs. Oscar Dymond of Shavertown
entertained her club recently.
Allen Daniels of Shavertown has
been ill for several days.
Miss Naomi Hons of Shavertown has
returned after visiting Mrs. Frances
Boston of Wilkes-Barre,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nelson of
Shavertown announce the birth of a |
daughter on Monday, June 20, at Nes-
bitt Memorial Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rau of Shav-
ertown recently entertained Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Johnson of New Jersey
and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doyle of
Philadelphia.
Miss Catherine Miller of Trucksville,
Mrs. James Adams of Wyoming Sem-
inary, and Mrs. William Chick of Bos-
ton are on a tour of New York State.
Mrs. Leona Doughton of Syracuse,
formerly of Shavertown, is visiting in
Shavertown.
Miss Marion Anthony, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Anthony of
Trucksville, is visiting relatives in
Bloomsburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Smith and
family of Trucksville attended the Ide
reunion recently,
Miss Mary « Holcomb, daughter of
Rev. T. M. Holcomb, returned to Chill,
N. Y. after ‘visiting her parents in
Trucksville.
The Women’s Auxiliary of the Prince
of Peace Episcopal Church met with
Mrs. Fred Renard on Wednesday night.
