For Junior Prom
Committees for the Junior-Senior |
Prom of Kingston Township High
School have been announced. The
prom will be held in the high school
auditorium on Friday night, under
sponsorship of the Junior Class, and
will be semi-formal. Lewis E, Wil-
liam is chairman of the music com-
mittee, assisted by Stanley Fabian,
Marion Howells, Dorothy Luft, Robert
Anderson, Wallace Perrin; decorating
committee, Robert Fritzges, chairman;
Joan Conway, Ruth Dressel, Helen
Lawson, Hedley Lyne, Doris Mosier,
Jean Nelson, Eleanor Prushko, Bryant
Phinus, Rose Shaw, Marion Turner;
program committee, Rose Shaw, chair-
man; Charles Chappel, James Conklin,

Cheerio Class Has
Meeting At Church
The Cheerio Class held a business
meeting at the Lutheran Church of
Shavertown. Plans were discussed
for a party next month. Hostesses
were Jane Bevan and Marion Anthony.
Entertainment was furnished by Fred
Girton. Refreshments were served to
Ruth Hontz, Ruth Dressel, Doris Mos-
ier, Marlaine Laycock, Ruth Schwartz,
Nanc¢y Bevan, Betty Anthony, Mary
Jean Laycock, Richard Williams, Bry-
‘ant Rhinus, Fred Girton, Robert Die-
rolf.
David Jones Speaks
Before Bible Class
Dr. Place’s Men’s Bible Class met
Tuesday night in Shavertown M. E.
Church. Final reports were made on
the amateur ‘show. The guest speaker
was David R. Jones, Kingston, well
known humorist. Refreshments were
served by Clarence Rosser, William
Binde, Alva Wilson, Harold Roushey,
Theodore Poad and Theodore Gallup.

Miss Case Crowned
As Queen Of The May
The annual Field Day of Kingston
Township High School was held May
20 on the high school field. The main
event was the crowning of the May
Queen, Miss Betty Case, who had been
chosen by secret balloting. Her at-
tendants were Marjorie Nichols, Helen
Cooney, Pearl Roushey, Ellen Gregory,
Mary Helen Beline, Elizabeth Sink,
Betty Owens, Nancy Metz, Norma Hen-
ning. Wilma Stock, Dorothy Loveland,
Susan Palmer. Fencers were Rose
Shaw, Helen Lawson, Alice Holcomb,
Ruth Hontz, Doris Mosier, Nancy Be-
van, Ruth Dressel, Ruth Gordon, Elea~
nor Prushko, Marion Turner, Marion
Howells, Elizabeth Chusin. Dorothy
Luft was the Crown Bearer.

give a group of piano solos.

David Whitney, son of Mr, and Mrs.
Bernard Whitney, Shavertown, is ill
Barbara Jane Maikemes is recov-
ering from a serious illness. She is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Malkemes of Shavertown. :
Mrs. George McLuckie of Shaver-
town has returned after three weeks
with her son, George and family at
Syracuse.
Rev. Herbert E. Frankfort of Shaver-
town attended sessions of the conven-
tion of the Lutheran Ministerium of
Pennsylvania at Allentown this week.
Miss Sadie Evans and Jennie West
visited Jane and Nancy Bevan over

Hike In Moonlight
On Thursday night the Luther Lea-
gue of St. Paul's Church planned for
a moonlight hike and a wiener roast to
be held June 13. The committee has
as members: Walter Thompson, Mar-
jorie Jones, Marlaine Laycock, Robert
Dierolf and Valerio Hunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ide of Trucks-
