State Dignitaries Will Be
At Wilkes-Barre On
January 22
C. Paul Wagner of Williamsport, grand
master of I. O. O. F., will make his first
and only official visit to Luzerne County
on Saturday, January 22.. He will be ac-
companied by John L. Price, grand patri-
arch of the Grand Encampment, Major
General Russell K. Patterson, deputy
Commander of the Patriarch Militant, and
Sadie Mytinger, president of Rebekah As-
sembly. . 1
" Temple Encampment Degree Staff if
Philadelphia will confer the Encampment
Degree upon a class of about 30 at I. O.
‘0. F. Temple at 3. At 6 the visiting of-
ficials will be honored at a dinner at the
Hotel Redington. At 8 the initial degree
will be conferred upon 150 candidates at
Irem Temple. The final event on the
day's program will be an open meeting
for friends and guests at 9:30.

Plan For Card Party To Be
Held At Sterling On
January 25
The Shavertown branch of Nesbitt Me-
morial Hospital Auxiliary met on Friday
afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ray Shi-
ber of Center Hill Road, Dallas.
The meeting was in charge of the presi
dent, Mrs. A. G. Groblewski. A regular
business session was held. Mrs. V. P.
Edwards, general chairman of the card
party and dance at Hotel Sterling on
Dr. Charles Perkins of Trucksville was
the guest speaker. He spoke on ‘The
Farce and Fancies of Beauty”.

urday for removal of tonsils at Nesbitt
Memorial Hospital. His condition is fine.

week at the home of her son and daugh-
ter-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Thomp-
son, where she will spend some time.
~~ Mrs. James Marshall of Kingston is the
house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Scott,
Sr., of Center Hill Road. Mrs. Marshall
is the mother of Mrs. Scott. She will
remain with her daughter for a few
weeks. :
Mr. and Mrs. John Blair will move tor
morrow into the Baker home. Mr. Baker
leaves on Monday for Philadelphia where
he will attend school. Mrs. Baker will
live in Wilkes-Barre during her husband's
