nice letters written by boys and
girls of Wyoming aad Susquehan-
na Counties. Here are the win-
ners:

Kenneth Jayne, 8 years old of Lac-
eyville, Bronson Hadsall, 14 years
old of Tunkhannock and William
Miller, 11 years old of Meshoppen,
‘all of whom were close to the win-
mer.

of Nicholson
Other girls prizes were award-
ed to Arietta Carr of Tunkhan,
nock, Thelma Mackey of Nichol
son, Edith Gaylord of Nicholson,

Ayres of Tunkhannock.
We congratulate these winners
and also wish to thank all the
other boys and girls who sent in
letters. They were all very good.
1937 has been a busy and suc-
cessful year. We have much to be

Dodson Married By

Kunkle M. EB. Church since it was built

Christmas Day whens Dorothy Elston of
Kunkle and Freds Dodson of Muhlenburg
were married by Rev. Guy Leinthall, pas
tor.

The bride, who was given away by her
father, wore a gown of dubonnet velvet,
with a shoulder length veil held by a coro-
onet of roses and carried an arm bou-
quet of Talisman roses and babies’ breath.
Her bridesmaids, Vivian Allen of Noxen
and Mildred Devens of Kunkle, wore
gowns of velvet and carried bouquets of
white and yellow chrysanthemums.
The groom’s attendants were Thomas
Landon and James Miers. Estella Elston,
{sister of the bride, was flower girl. The
ushers were Gomer and Marvin Elston,
brothers of the bride, and Charles Sayre.
Miss Roannah Shoemaker played the wed-
ding march.
Mrs. Dodson is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Elston of Kunkle and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Philip Dodson of Muhlenburg. After a
trip to the Middle West they will reside
with Mrs. Dodson’s grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Isaacs of Kunkle.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bean have re-
turned from their wedding trip and are
staying at the home of Mr. Bean's grand-
mother, Mrs. E. J. Miller of Noxen. Mrs.
Bean is ‘the former Miss Elva Mensinger
of Hazleton.

Family reunions are fashionable around
the holidays but few families are fortu-
nate enough to have as many gatherings
of near relatives as the Hildebrant family
of East Dallas, who hung up an unusual
record over Christmas.
On Christmas Eve Mr. and Mrs. John
Hildebrant entertained at a family din-
ner, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Sherman
Hildebrant of East Dallas, who were cele-
brating their forty-fifth wedding anniver-
sary. At that dinner there were thirty
guests. They were:

Fisher, Wilkes-Barre; Miss Elma Harter,

hispitality, on the following day the Hil

debrant and their own family, a total of
thirteen.
Still undaunted on Sunday the Hilde-
brants held another family dinner this
ceding day, with one more, Harry Keirle
of Binghamton.

Business Man On
Xmas Eve
The marriage of Miss Frances Place of
Orange, N. Y.,\to Zel Garinger of Dal
las took place on Christmas Eve at old
John's Street Church in New York City.
The couple were unattended. They
will reside in Dallas. Miss Place is a
teacher in the East Orange schools. Mr.
Garinger is in the farm machine business
in Dallas and has been prominent in this
section for some years.

Word was received recently of the birth
of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kester
of Belleville. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kester
were members of the Dallas Township
school faculty. The baby, was named
Charles Ash. Mrs. Kester was Mill Mary
Stahlman.

card club at her home on Tuesday even-
