don of Mineola, L. I., returned after be-
ing called home by the illness and death
of their mother and grandmother, Mrs.
Ida eHrdman, whose funeral was held
from her home on Monday.

The Silver Leaf Club will hold its
Christmas party at the Grange Hall on
Tuesday evening, December 28.

The young people of Kunkle M. E.
church held a Christmas social at the
Grange Hall on Monday evening with
Rev. Guy Leinthall in charge. Members
of this group will have charge of the
church service on Sunday evening, Dec-
ember 19. Those present were Margaret
Boston, Ethel Boston, Ida Smith, Geral-
dine Smith, Mildred Boston, Gilbert Bos-
ton, Frances Sayre, Ruth Sayre, Martha
Kunkle, Ida Kunkle, Doris Hess, Elwood

death of her father, George Puterbaugh,
whose funeral was held on Wednesday
from his home on Noxen road, Harvey's
Lake.

Thomas Smith has been elected assist
ant teacher of the Young Men's class of
the M. E. church school as Mr. Klees,
who is the regular teacher, cannot attend
in the winter,

The Baptist people are preparing to
give a Christmas entertainment.

Miss Alice Schoonover won the door
prize, a ten pound turkey, last Friday
evening at the party which the Young
Men's class held at the Grange hall
Many others were lucky in securing nice
prizes for the games.

Stanley Weaver and Miss Margaret
Siperko were united in marriage at the
M. E. parsonage, Sunday afternoon by
Rev. Thomas F. Kline. We wish them
happiness and good luck.

Mrs. Margaret Gaines Smith, wife of
Theodore R. Smith, a former resident of
this place, died and was buried from her
home in Bell Meade, N. J., last week: D.
C. Smith and family of Trucksville at-
tended the funeral. Theodore was the
youngest child of Mr. Smith.
