In excellent health and in splendid

East Dallas celebrated their 56th wedding
anniversary’ last Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Howells were married by
Rev. G. C. Lyman at the Carverton M.
E. parsonage. They lived on the farm
where Mr. Howell was born, in East Dal
las, until about 18 years ago, when they
moved to their present home on Demunds
road. .
Mr. Howells gave the East Dallas M
E. church the ground on which it now
stands and his granddaughter, then a
small child, was credited with the first
gift to the church fund.
Mrs. Howells was born Nancy Lord,
daughter of Elizabeth Dewitt and Stepher
Lord, on a farm where her brother, De-
witt Lord, now lives, at Mt. Zion. She
was born on May 9, 1859. Mr. Howells
was born on the family farm in East Dal
las, the son of James and Katherine
on May 27, 1857.
He sold that farm ro the Paynes about 18
years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Howells have one son,
H. E. Howels, and two grandchildren, Al.
berta and Lois Howells of Main streety
Dallas. The couple were guests of Mrs.
Howells’ sistes, Mrs. Ada Rice, at “The
Maples”, Demunds, on Sunday.
The Post joins with their many friends
