Kunkle Couple Have
Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Miers of Kunkle
celebrated their 39th wedding anniver-
sary this week. They were married
in Kunkle on December 29, 1897. Be-
fore marriage Mrs. Miers was Amy
Kunklé. The ‘couple has four child-
ren, T. J. Miers, Pittsburgh; Russell
and James; Kunkle, and Marlon,
Trucksville. There are eleven grand-
children,

Mrs. Frank Traver
Dies At Noxen Home
The funeral of Mrs. Frank Traver,
aged 54, who dropped dead Tuesday
afternoon at her home near Evans’
Falls, will be held Saturday afternoon
at 2 from the late home.
Mrs. Traver was the sister of the
late John E. Morgan of Tunkhannock,
who was for years superintendent of
Wyoming County schools. She was a
woman of jovial and pleasant dispo-
sition and one who had scores of
friends throughout Wiyoming county
and especially in Monroe and Noxen
townships.
Until the time of her death she had
apparently been in average health
with little or no indication of the
heart condition which was to cause
her death so suddenly.
Besides her husband and two
daughters, Mildred at home and Mrs.
Earl Crispell of Noxen, she leaves two
grandchildren, Earl and Elvin Crispell.
She also leaves the following brothers
jand sisters: Mrs. Roland Collins, Mrs.
| Oscar Williams and Miss Gertrude
j Morgan - all of Akron, Ohio; Mrs.
Harry Wall of Beaumont and a broth-
er, Harry Morgan of Norristown, Pa.

Mrs. Wallace Perrin, son, Howard and
twins Wayne and Jane, of Trucksville,
visited Mrs. Laura Hartman of Scrant-
on on Sunday.
The Junior beys class of the Kunkle
M. E, Sunday School were entertained
with a party on Thursday afternoon at
the home of their teacher, Mrs. Har-
old Smith. She was assisted by Miss
Martha Kunkle, . assistant teacher.
Games were enjoyed and lunch served
to Charles Kunkle, Carl Kunkle, Rob-
ert Ashburner, Conrad Honeywell,
Austin Wertman, D. Lawrence, Donald
and Forrest Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy en-
tertained with a Bingo party at their
home on, Christmas night. Guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Wi. S. Puterbaugh,
children, Eleanor, Junior and Margret-
ta of Alderson, James Murphy of
Kingston, Mrs. J. A. Puterbaugh, Ken-
neth, Haymond, Joseph, William and
Lawrence Puterbaugh and Miss Mary
Zack of Newark, N. J., Carl and Lorea
Kunkle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy,
Charles, John and Elvira Murphy. Fol-
lowing the Bingo games lunch was

a few days from State College, West

tertained at dinner on Sunday Mr. and

Mrs. Drucilla Church of Shickshin-
ney has been spending a few days with
weeks at his old home town, Jersey
City.

day in Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Major, Sr.,
son, Stuart Major of Shavertown also
Ira Major, Jr., of Pittsburg visited Mrs.
Louise and Mrs. Myrtle Kocher on Sat-
urday.
Ira Major, Jr. of Pittsburg has been
spending a few days vacation with his
parents at Shavertown, Emma Major
his wife did not come with him she is
just recovering from a serious illness.
Mrs. Arthur Hoppes and her niece,
Miss Florence Craig, called on Mrs.
Myrtle Kocher on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Traver called on
Mrs. Louise Kocher on ‘Saturday.
Mrs. Thomas Travers is in General
Hospital with a case of appendicitis
and is getting along as well as can
be expected at this writing.

daughter born Sunday afternoon, De-
cember 27th. Mrs. Orcutt was the
former Miss Hope Roberts of Dallas.

the funeral of Mrs. Rood’s cousin Ray
Wandel of Mooretown on Sunday af-
ternoon.
