the sixth grade this week, making a
total of forty-eight in the fifth and

George Montross, a pupil of the sec.
on grade who has been in‘the Gener-
al hospital because of an infection: in
his leg, is now able to sit up in a
~ wheel chair.
f Dramatic Club News
A program will be given by the
Green Mask Dramatic Club at 4:00
o'clock, Thursday night, October 19, at
Beaumont High ‘School.
3 Hallowe'en
The customary program for Hallo-
we’en given by the grades has been
replaced by @ new system. The High
school grades or all organizations in
the High School may give an act last-
ing twenty minutes. They will be
judged by the applause, the exactness
&
of time and the interest taken by the
audience,
A -prize of $3 will be given to the
best. ;
Attendance
We are trying for perfect attendence
each month. The ninth grade boys of
Mrs. Snowe’s room have succeeded, in
obtaining perfect attendence. The
attendance of the rest of the rooms is
as follows:
8G.9 Grades, 99 per cent.: 5B-8, 98
per cent.; 5A-6, 98 per cent,; 8B-T, 97
« per cent.; 2A-3, 96 per cent.; 11G-10,
11B-12,-89 per cent.
Senior Class
Marcella Kunkle, a member of ithe
Senior class was rushed to the Wilk-
es.Barre General Hospital Monday,
September 25, with an attack of ap-
pendicitis.

Jane Herdman, a member of the
seventh grade is absent from school

Home Room Organizes
Sophomore Home Room Activities
were organized and the following were
elected for offices: Florence Park, pre-
sident; Lawrence Fritz, vice-president;
Eleanor Rinken, secretary-treasurer.
Certain committees were organized to
do certain duties. Hostess to take care
of door and visitors, Esther Barnes;
Sergeant of Arms, to take care of cur-
taing and windows, Roger Williams;
N. R. A. Workers, to take care of tab-
les, floors, and boards, Ralph Miers;
Walter Meeker, Frank Maznik; News
Snatchers to take care of bulletin
board, Jane Smith and Nancy Lamor-
eaux; Interior Decorator, Lawrence
Fitz; Excuse Catcher to distribute and
collect excuses, Ruth Ide; Supply Man-
ager to take care of supplies, Fred
Ide; Jolly Clowns to furnish enetrtain-
ment, June Shaw and Jean Zimmer.

Volley Ball Enjoyed
The students of Lehman High School
have enjoyed the fun and good exer-
cise in volley ball games during the
noon hour. A great many turn out,
so that both sides have a large num-
ber than. the rules require.

The “Lions,” who lost to the “Pan.
thers” in the Curtis Publishing Mag-
azine contest will entertain the win-,
ning team tonight in the high school
building. The program, which is plan-
ned by the publishing company, will be
“A Pirate Hullabaloo.” After the pro-
gram the “Lions” will serve the Pan.
