Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Davis have
announced the hirth of a son, Herbert,
Jr., in Philadelphia. Mrs. Davis is the
former Miss Alma Rauch of Alderson.
Mrs. Howard Higgins, Ethel Calkins,
and Mrs. Dave Richards visited the
former’s brother, Edward Miner, at
Pittston hospital on Friday afternoon,
Mr. Miner suffered injuries in a mot-
orcycle accident on Tuesday of last
week, i
Marjorie Kitchen, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Amos Kitchen has entered
the training school for nurses at Wil-
kes-Barre General Hospital.
Esther Garinger and Margaret Ros-
engrant have returnea irom Water-
bury, Connecticut.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Searfoss spent
Friday and Saturday in Endicott, N.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gibler and
family of Wilkes-Barre have closed
City for the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Garinger are
the proud parents of a son, Raymond
Arnold, born September 21. Mrs. Gar-
inger was the former Mildred Hausch
of Laketon, Mother and son aré pro-
gressing.
The ‘stork also paid a visit to Mr.
and Mrs. Steven Ward on Sunday
morning. Theirs is a girl. i
Lillian York was the week end guest
of Rosilla Kasper at Wilkes-Barre.
Rally Day will be observed through-
out the church services at Alderson
next Sunday. Sunday school will be
held as usual at 10. Rev. Crompton
of Pittston will be the speaker at the
services at eleven o’clock. The Ep-
worth League has also planned a
special program. Special singing
and instrumental numbers will be
heard. Young people and their par-
ents are especially urged to attend.
Ross Garinger has returned from a
two weeks trip to Mt. Vernon, Maine
and the White Mountains.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Austin of
Johnson City spent the week-end with
relatives here.
Harriet Stem has resumed her
studies at Syracuse University.
Mrs. A. L, Stull and son Arthur, Jr.,
have returned from a six weeks stay
abroad.
Joseph Rauch will resume his stud-
ies at Wilkes-Barre Business College
.on Monday.
Rev. W. S. York attended the con-
ference meeting at Scranton on Mon-
day.
A number of local folk attended the
N. R. A. parade at Wilkes-Barre on

On Trip To Chicado
Mrs. W. L. Tracey, mother of Lee
Tracy, well-known movie star, and Mr.
and Mrs. R. M. Scott of Pioneer aven-
ue, left last Saturday to spend some
time at the World's Fair at Chicago.

was reported as being seriously ill at
her home on Main street at this writ-

Kingston township, football team
lost to the Meyers Ligh School team
last Friday afternoon by the score of
33 to 0. The locals made a much bet-
ter showing than they did last year.
Thig afternoon they are scheduled to
play the G, A. R. High School team
at Wilkes-Barre.
