EFFORT MOUNTAIN PAVE
URGED ON LEGISLATURE
(Continued From Page 1) :
rr
For several years Wyoming Valley
Motor Club has been endeavoring to
have the road from Blakeslee to Say-
lorshurg, permanently improved. Mon-
roe County has not been able to pave
it and could not afford to match, the
State on a fifty-fifty proposition. So
Wyoming Valley Motor Club decided
to bring together at a meeting every-
body interested and solicited aid from
all towns between Elmira, New York,
and Philadelphia.
On February 27, 1930, last year, a
meeting was called by Wyoming Val-
ley Motor Club, inviting reresentatives
from Philadelphia, Faston, Saylors-
burg, Effort, Stroudsburg, Wilkes-
Barre, Tunkhannock, Wyalusing, To-
wanda, Sayre and Elmira to consider
some way to bring about this very
much needed improvement. This meet-
ing was held at the Benjamin Franklin
Hotel in Philadelphia, and men from
service organizations, motor clubs,
ete, made brief talks and suggestions.
