The Nanticoke Sub-District Epworth
League held its annual rally at Lalke-
|wood Park on Thursday, with repre-
sentatives from Glen Lyon. Alden.
West Nanticoke and Askam. Swim-
ming, dancing and sports were the
chief diversions, winners of the sports
being: 100° yard dash, boys, Jake
Haglenbauth;/ 50 yard dash, girls,
Doris Sutton; Backward race, boys,’

boys, Tom Billings, Joe Deen; Pea-
nut Race, boys, James Deen; Balloon
race, girls, Elizabeth Davies; Balloon
Blowing contest, boys, Charles Cast-

The evening program consisted of
songs, and prayer by Rev. Mathis, fol-
lowed by a weiner roast.
The Moriah Girl Scouts of Nanti-
icoke are spending two weeks at Lake-
{wood Camp Grounds.

School for orphans of Civil War sol-
diers was formerly located at Hartford

| visited the place for over forty years.
