Thomas A. Dress, of Pinegrove,
Schuylkill county, wa9 sentenced yes
terday to sixty days in prison for trying
to bribe a Civil Service commissioner to
obtain him a government position. He
offered only S2O for a job as watchman
at Washington.
The remains of the late Condy Boyle
were followed yesterday morning from
his home ou North Ridge street to St.
Ann's church by a large number of
friends and rolatives. Maj. C. B. Ccxe
Post, O. A. R., attended the funeral In
a body.

Joseph Zahman, of Pottsville, who
was a non-union workman during the
strike, has become violently insane. The
treatment accorded him preyed upon bis
mind until he became a wreck. He was
removed to Schuylkill Haven asylum.
Henry Fisher, of Birkbeck street,
former superintendent of the Freeland
Water Company, who is recovering
from a severe illness, will remove on
April 1 to Butler valley to take charge
of a farm which he owns there.

by the deaths of Condy Boyle and Con

Mr. and Mrs. Oliie Mason and family
left yesterday for bavannah, Georgia,

Henry Iliukle, a well known resident
of Weatherly, died yesterday at the
age of 75 years.
