Alexander Marshall, of Jeanesville. was selected on Friday as chairman of of the Prohibition party in the Fourth legislative district of Luzerne county. Mr. Marshall, who is an active worker in Ills party, is a candidate for sheriff on the Prohibition ticket. William Seiwell, one of the early settlers of Sugarloaf township, is dead. He was 87 years old. Deceased was one of the best known men in the valley and highly esteemed. He had in his time filled the office of supervisor, school director and poor overseer. Dr. Flexer, of Tatnanend, near Ta maqtia, claims that the Reading Railroad Company detained him for an unneces sary length of time by tho blocking of a crossing, during which time a patient whom lie was going to see died.
