Recent Deaths
John Yablinsky
Bakerton—John Yablinsky, 70,
of this place, died at 5:30 p. m,,
on Monday, Sept. 12, in the Min-
ers’ Hospital, Spangler. He was
born in Poland in 1879. He wife,
Victoria, died in 1935.
He is survived by the following
children: Charles of Carrolltown;
Henry and Felix, both of Pat-
ton; Mrs. Helen Cronauer of
Aliquippa and John, with the TU.
Army.
He was a member of the Bak-
erton Local 129 of the United
Mine Workers of America and of
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church
Funeral services will be held
this Friday, Sept. 16, in the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Bakerton at 9 a. m. with a sol-
emn high mass of requiem, and
burial will be made in St, Mary's
Cemetery in Nanty Glo.

Mrs. Leona M. Whited
Barnesboro—Mrs. Leona Mary
(Yarnal) Whited, 70, of near
here died at her home at 5:40 p.
m. on Monday, Sept. 12, She was
born on May 5, 1879 in Indiana
County, a daughter of Alex and
Sarah (Mock) Yarnal.
She is survived by her husband,
Joseph, and the following child-
ren: Clair, Howard, Wesley and
Gilbert Duane, all of Barnes-
boro; Mrs. Sadie Cruikshank of
Pittsburgh; Mrs. Mae Jernnigan
of St. Stephen, S. C.; Mrs. Gladys
Farrell of Philadelphia. Seven-
teen grandchildren and two great
grandchildren, also survive.
She was a sister of Frank Yar-
of Cherry Tree; Lloyd and Simon
Marnal of Homer City; Blair
Yarnal of Vandergrift; Harry
Yarnal and Mrs. Ella Pittman of
Barnesboro R. D.; Mrs. Melissa
Anderson of Harrisburg and Mrs.
Millie Wagoner of Bedford.
Furkral services will be held at
2 p. m. today, Sept. 15 at the
Garmantown Church and burial
will be made in the East Ridge
Cemetery.

(McCardell) Westover, 79, form-
erly of Emeigh, died last Wed-
nesday, Sept. 7 at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. A. G. Newn-
ham of this place. She was born
in Westover R. D. on Feb. 15,
1870, a daughter of Pilson and
Martha (Brothers) McCardell.
She is survived by one daugh-
ter, mentioned above, and one]
brother, Charles McCardell of |

2 p. m. last Saturday in the Me-
thodist Church in Emeigh by Rev.
J. Paul Taylor and burial was

Smychynsky, 52 of this place
died at 6:10 a. m. last Sunday,
Sept. 11 in the Miners’ Hospital
in Spangler. He was born on
Sept. 12, 1896 in Austria.
He is survived by his widow,
the former Julia Kutsick and the
following children: Joseph, Paul,
Frank, Cornelius, Ronald, Donald
and Joann, all at home.
He was a member of the Bak-
erton UMWA Local 1268.
Funeral services will be held
at 9 a. m. this Thursday in SS.
Peter & Paul's Catholic Church in
Bakerton and burial will be made
in the church cemetery.
