with Rev. Father Hackett offi-

mony and the Nuptial Mass. Miss

offertory.
The bride was lovely in a white
slipper satin gown with long
train and sleeves pointed over the
hand. Her fingertip veil was held
in place by a tiara of orange

Strict Enforcement
Ordered By Council
A 25-mile-per-hour speed limit
on Route 53 in Cresson was set |
by the borough council on Mon-|
day evening of this week. Th: |
restriction was put into force to,
cut speeding on Second Street, as
the route is known in the bor-
ough. Councilmen said the new
speed limit will be strictly enforc-

carrying out street improvements.
It is hoped to complete work this
year on several sidewalk repair
and curb installation projects.
A petition was received from
residents of Second Street and
Columbus Aveune—where a dan-
gerous S-curve is located. The
petition asks that the curve be |
eliminated.
Councilmen explained they have
asked State Highway Department
officials in Harrisburg to have
the curve taken out, but no de-
finite action has been taken. The
petition will be forwarded to the
state officials.
Feast of Mt. Carmel
To Be Observed
Sunday, Barnesboro
The Feast of Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel will be observed in Bar-
nesboro this coming Sunday, July
17, with Masses at Our Lady of
Mt. Carmel Church at 8 and 10:30
a. m. (DST). At 9:30 a. m. the
Clearfield Band, which will fur-
nish the outdoor music during

bers of the Order of the Sons of
Italy and other societies through
the principal streets of the town
and all will assemble at the Mt.
Carmel Church at 10:30 to hear
Solemn High Mass.
Rev. Father Louis Secondo,

From 12 to 2:30 p. m. a spagh-
etti dinner will be served in the
church basement by the ladies of
the parish. The usual devotional
procession will take place at 4
p. m. The Clearfield Band will
render select religious music dur-
ing the procession. At 6 p. m. the
Rosary will be recited in church
followed by Benediction.
During the evening a band con-

other entertainment. The festival
will close with an excellent dis-
play of fireworks.
