Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones of this Patton Eagles Cop 58-53 Win Monday Receive Invitation to Enter Franklin Tourney The Patton Eagles defeated the Tyrone “Y” by the score of 58 to 53 on Monday evening of this week on the Cherry Tree Com- munity Hall floor. The win was the second of the season for the Eagles over the Tyrone “Y” team, the first game score being 52 to 50, on the Ty- rone “Y” floor. Patton took the first quarter by the score of 18 to 8 with Tyrone coming back strong in the second stanza to win 20 to 13; the Eagles holding a three point 31 to 28 lead, at the half. Patton increased their margin in the third quarter 16 to 10 and holding a 47 to 38 leading going into the final 10 minutes. Tyrone won the last quarter 15 to 11. Roman, sturdy forward for the Eagles, with 16 points, led the scorers and Cronauer followed his teammate with 15. Snyder was high for Tyrone with 18 followed by Miller with 14. he win was victory number 20 for the Patton Eagles in 25 games played thus far this year. The Eagles have received an invitation to enter the Franklin VFW tournament which starts on Sunday, Mar. 6.
