ool League, duplicated its earlier tri-
umph over Patton, Section 2 leader, by
defeating the Pattonites at Gallitzin
last Firday evening by a score of 35
to 15. In the girls’ preliminary game,
the Gallitzin lassies also were victors
over ‘Patton by a score of 22 to 13.
Lincoln’s birthday, February 12th,
falls on ‘Sunday next, and Monday will
be observed as a legal holiday. Wash-
ington’s birthday, the 22nd of the mon-
th, falls on a Wednesday.
Don’t forget the annual Washing-
ton’s birthday supper to be held by
the ladies of the Baptist Church, in
the Methodist Church Social Rooms.
Jerry Mann and His Eleven Piece
Swing Band of Indiana, will furnish
the music for a benefit dance for the
Patton Juvenile Band to be held in
the Eagles’ Home, Patton, on Friday
evening, February 17th. The admission
will be 50 cents, and the aid of the
Patton public in the affair is solicited
by the band boys.
The 28th annual banquet of the Pat-
ton Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, is
scheduled to be held in the Moose
hall next Tuesday evening, February
14th. An error in the time on the

MRS. ELLA (GRIMES) MANSFIELD
Mrs. Ella Grimes Mansfield of
| Chest Springs died at 10:30 Sunday
morning while visiting at the home of
her sister, Miss Ida Grimes of Altoona.
Mrs. Mansfield left Chest Springs
about three weeks ago to visit ans |
her sister. Her husband, Joseph Mans-
| field, died several years ago. A native
of Cambria County, Mrs Mansfield was
born in Loretto, a daughter of John
and Margaret Grimes. Surviving are a
brother, John Grimes, Altoona, and
inree sisters, Mrs. Laura Waters,
Ralphton; Miss Sue Grimes, Pittsburgh,
and Miss Ida Grimes, at whose home
| she died. Funeral services were con-
| ducted at 9 o’clock Thursday morning
with a requiem high mass in St. Mon-
ica’s Catholic Church, Chest Springs.
