There were two candidates for the Congressional endorsement, vis: the Hon Joseph E. Thropp, of Everett, and Dr. George Price, of Altoona. Dr. Price has been a resident of Altoona or Many years, popular railroad physician and an ex- perienced politician. He ix personaily acquainted with the great mass of voters in Blair connty and earried the county for one tine for Khel, and in Rok peceived the regular Repoblican nomination for the legislature. He made a through canvas of the county cand pur np a fight in every precinct, Under these circomstianoes the magnif- joent endorsement of Congressman Thropp stands cut as a notable political victory and will be constroed as it should be, a deserved endorsement of an able Congressman who stands by his party principles and iabors faithfully to serve all bis constituents The Republican voters of Bir county balieve in standing by the party precedents.
