On last Friday evening the quiet of
our peaceful village was disturbed by
tho nrrival ot a Mr. Pitkins and the re.

the purposo of making speeches at the
Republican meeting held here on that

patriot, last named, would bo present,
had drawn forth quite a crowd, and
when the meeting was called together
