Quests at the Wedding.
Among the guests at the wedding of
Charles E. Donmoyer and Mies Nina
Johnston at the residence of Mr. and
Mrs. W. W. Biggins last Wednesday
evening were the following from a
distance: Mr.and Mrs. I. B. Angevine,
daughter, Miss Edna, and two sonB, of
Bioksford, James Johnston, and Mist
Lillian Johnston, of Coudersport, Mrs.
Angevine, of Stockton, N. J., MIbs
Mary Crawford and Miss Ruth Sykes,
of Sykesvllle, and Miss Edna
Moore, of Philadelphia. Of these, the
guests from Coudersport and Rlcksford
returned to their homes the latter part
of last week.
It had been announced that Mr.
Donmoyer and bride would leave
shortly after the ceremony on
wedding trip to Niagara Falls and
other places, but when the time came
for going the plans were suddenly
changed and the couple remained in
Beynoldsvllle until 'Monday, when
they went to Philadelphia, their
future home.
Brookyille Fair.
The Star is In receipt of the annual
catalogue of the Brook ville fair, from
the press of the Brookvlhe Republican,
and it la executed in the usual faultless
typography of that office. As UBual,
the Brook vllle fair promises to be a big
amusement event, and the society Is
making big preparations to surpass
previous exhibitions. The fair this
year will he an all day affair, base ball
games being played within the grounds
in the morning, while Capt. Winston's
trained seals, the sp-clal attraction,
will also give exhibitions in the fore
noon. The race premiums are ex
ceptionally heavy, and the usual high
class premiums for stock and farm
exhibits are offered. The dates are
September 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Was Doing Good Work.
Archie Caldwell, who died at Nash
ville, Indiana, August 17th, was
missionary for the American Sunday
j Union for five months. In that time
he travelled 1,048 miles, organized 21
Sunday schools, aided 23, started 6
prayer meetings, gave 24 addresses,
bad .26 conversions, organized 2
teachers' meetings, distributed 81
bibles and testaments, made 495 visits
to homes. During his last day's .work
he had '7 conversions; the next day
reported at home sick.

LAST SERMON OKONFERENCE YEAR.
Next Sunday the Rev. John F. Black,
pastor of the Reynoldsvllle Methodist
Eplsoopal church, will preaoh his laBt
sermons In the present conference year
and attend the annual conference of his
church the coming week. The people
of Reynoldsvllle regard Rev. Black as
one of the most successful ministers
who has ever served the local Methodist
congregation and there is little ques
tion but that the bishop will recognize
his good work here by sending him
back to continue the upbuilding of the
church.
Pin Prospect.
The Clarion State Normal School
will open Its twenty-fourth annual
session on Tuesday, September 13th.
The attendance promises to be the
largest in the history of the Institution.
During the past five years the growth

Charles McGulre, the Lawsonham
youth arrested on suspicion of being the
party who held up F. M. Brown, pay
master of the Widnoon Coal Mining
Company, six week ago, will appear
before the Armstrong county court for
trial next week. There is not very
much evidenoe to connect McGulre with
the shooting of Horton Craig on that
occasion outside of the fact that after
he .had denied owning a pair of light
colored overalls, such as the desperado
wore, a pair of overalls, of the right
shade were found in bis shanty near the
place. - .
