Una. CJ. W.C'iiieHsi i. , hxecutrix. .Its Castle, Fa , Tec. JO, 1007. A POPULAR CANDIDATE. Ira J. Campbell Is Seeking Nomina tion for Register and Recorder. It has become apparent, from the large number of candidates for the various county offices at the coming primary election, that the Republicans of the county are to be called upon in efery instancn to decide between a number of men In every way worthy of the office which they seek. This being tbe case, It will be the natural thing for the voter to look carefully Into tbe record of the candidate seek ing his suffrage, to examine him as his Republicanism and abovo all as to bis demonstrated ability to perform public duties. In this connection the the candidacy of our popular county treasurer, Ira J. Campbell, who Is now before the people as a candidate for the register and recorder nomination, will bear the closest scrutiny. Mr. Campbell has been a Republican all his life, be has fought the battles of the party, and been actively enlisted In Its interest, and until called to be county treasurer three years cgs. bad experienced none of the rewards, save tbe consciousness of having done his duty. Since been elected county treasurer Mr. Campbell has added to his host of friends who rallied to bis support in his former campaign, by his genialty, his courtesy and bis ability as a publlo official. His administration of the treasurer's office has been such as to win him hearty commendation, and is but natural that under, these circumstances be should look to a well establinhed precedent for his further continuance in office. For the past six years it has been tbe custom to give the retiring county treasurer a term as register and recorder, and the splen did administration of the Recorder's office by Messrs. Reltz and Means has demonstrated the wisdom of thus cling ing fast to officials whose ability has been proven. Mr. Campbell's candi dacy is In line with this popular pre cedent; bis Republicanism is of tbe first water; bla ability and courtesy as a public official are beyond question, and his private friendships are legion. It is natural, therefore, that his cpndi dacy has assumed formidable propor tions at the very outset of the contest, and that Mr. Campbell's friends are heartily enlisted in an active and en ergetio campaign In tbe presentation of his claims to the people. Those who have come Into contact with this popular official in the conduct of. bis duties as a publlo servant need not be told that bis campaign will be con ducted upon the clean, wholesome but energetic lines which have marked his official performances ' and have made him one of tbe most popular officials who have eyer occupied the treasurer's office, and that bis candidacy will ap peal to those who believe in adequately rewarding faithful and courteous ser vice. Brookville Republican. Rank Foolishness. "When attacked by a cough or a cold, or when your throVt is sore, It Is rank foolishness to take any other medicine than Dr. King's New Discovery," says C. O. Eldrldge, of Empire, Ga. "I have used New Discovery seven years and I know it is the best remedy on earth for coughs and colds, croup, and all throat and lung troubles. My children are subject to croup, but New Discovery quickly cures every attack." Known tbe 'world over as the King of throat and lung remedies.
