of the tenth Instant and In reply he to
say that the legislature of Pennsyl
vania has no Intention whatever of pm
ing a law which would prevent, Insur
ance companies of New Y rk state from
transacting business tn ibis state- and
any such stories is pure fabrication.
The Order of the Golden Iwue Is
organized and authorlz'd to transact,
business as a secret fraternal beneficial

ders tbey do not agree to return anv
specified amount at the end of the dis
tribution period, but only a sum not

FRANK RITZIE, brother of Charles Ritzie, of Reynoldsmlle,
who died recently at Panama.

Mrt.. .1. R. Smith lias been visiting at
Punxsutawney.
'Jacob Brody, one of our morchants,

The Soldier hall will bs torn down
and moved to another town, where Its
owner, Frank Marlnaro,. will use the
lumber on the erection of a large store
building.
A birthday surprise party was given
Clarence Early ono night last week.
Thirty people were present and all re
port a good time.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cameron moved
to Soldier Monday. A farewell party
was given Mrs. Cameron by the ladles
of Ratbmel. Forty-nine were present,
which shows bow highly she is respect
ed in that place. Mrs. Cameron Is a
very estimable lady and we gladly wel
come the family here. '
An entertainment was given in Sol'
dier ball recently for the benefit of the
junior base ball team of this place.
They organized Beveral weeks ago and
are meeting regularly.1 Walter Cross-
wait has been elected manager. Soldier
Is also to have a first team.

DIED IN PANAMA.
Frame Ritzie, Brother of Charles Ritzie,
t the Victim of Malarial Fever.
By'reque8t we publish the following
notice of the death of Frank Ritzie,
brother of our townsman, Ex-Council
man Charles Ritzie, which was clipped
from a Hubbard, Ohio, paper,, where
his mother and sister live:
"Mr. Ritzie went to Panama lest
May where he was engaged in business.
He was last beard from in November, a
letter being then received by his moth'
er in Hubbard. Replies to his letter
were returned unanswered and officials
In Panama were notified, replying with
the Information that be had died of
malarial fever in the Anoon hospital
November 13th.
"The sadness of the death of Frank
Ritzie, at Panama, this morning, came
as a terrible shook to his aged mother,
Mrs Fannie Ritzie, and bis sister, Mrs.
John Kramer, both of Hubbard. The
last letter received . from him was tn
November, saying that he would return
home for a ylslt aethe was not In very
good health.. As replies to the letter
were returned unanswered, the officials
at Panama were notified and this morn'
lng the family received word that be
bad died from malarial fever at Anoon
hospital, Panama, November 13th.
Deceased was born north of Hubbard,
attended school and high school here,
graduating under Prof. Campbell.
After finishing the course he went to
Warren to school. After his school
days were over he entered the employ
of Mr. Brandmlller. For several years
he was in the grocery business near
Spring Common, this city. For eight
years he served In the United States
army. 'Last May he went to Panama
where he was employed In business
until his death. He was an extensive
traveler, having visited all of the states
of the union and almost all the foreign
ountrles.
"Deceased was 40 years of age and
unmarried. He was aelf-sacrifiolng,
honest and admired and esteemed by
all who knew htm here and by his hosts
of friends in Youngstown.
"Besides his aged . mother, Mrs,
Rlizle, his sister,, Mrs. Kramer, three
brothers, Charles, of Reynoldsvllle,
Albert, of Cleveland, and August, of
Youngstown, survive him. Arrange
ments are being made to have the re
mains brought to the cemetery at Hub
bard if possible."
