The Star's Want Column never fails to bring results SYKESVILLE CITIZEN DIED WEDNESDAY. F. C. Bonnett Expired at Adrian Hospital After Undergoing an Operation. Was Prominent in Business and Social Life of Sykesville. Frederick Carl llonnutt, who for thirteen years had been a resident and business man of Sykesville, died at the Adrian hospital on Wednesday evening, September 1!), l'.HJtl. He was taken sick about six weeks ago with gastrlo fever and was confined to his bed for three weeks after which he Improved until three weoks ago, when ho was ablo to leave his room and for several days he was able to be about the house but did not attend to business of any kind. On Saturday evening, Sept. 15th, be took a relapse and grew gradually worse. After a consultation of five or nix doc tors it whs decided to take him to the Adrian Hospital for an operation, which vhs done, early Wednesday morn ing. Tho operation was performed at 8.30 a. m He rallied from the opera tion and grew haw until about six o'clock when he became worse and died a few minutes past bIx. His wife ac companied him to tho hospital and re mained with him to the end. Hla remains wore brought to bis home on Thursday morning. Funeral was held Sunday forenoon. Mr. Bnnnott was born in Henderson township, near this place, August 24, 1804. For many years he wag a mem ber of the Reformed ohurch of Paradise and was a great church worker. De cember 20, 1892, he wb9 united In mar riage with Miss Laura E. Dickey, who wag also a faithful member of the Re formed church. To this union were born four children: Rachel, aged 13, Ruth, aged 11. John, aged 9, and Na omi, aged 7 jears. Besides bis wife and children, ho is survived by father, mother, three brothers and three sis ters, namely : Mrs Mary Lydiok, of MahalTey, Mrs. Bertha Wise, of Sykes ville, Mrs, Carrie Reiter and Henry Bonnett, of Pcntlold, Charles A. and Jacob Bonnett, of Henderson township. We can only nay, as all others have 9ald. that In thedea'h of Mr. Bonnett Sykesville loses one hor best and fore most citizens, a man loved and respected by all who knew him. He was looked upon as a. man of sound judgment, and with business ability which enabled him to Becure the conlldence of all with whom he came in contact. He was ever ready to lend a helping hand for the In terests of the town. We will miss him greatly not only lu the business but in Bocial circle as well. The funeral was held in the M. E church at this place at 9 tH) a, ra. Sundav, conducted by Rev. N. H. Smith, of Troutvllle, pastor of deceased, assisted by Rev. R. C. Mo Mlnn. of the M. E. church, and Rev. J. W. Crawford, of the Baptist church, of this place. The body was then taken the Reformed church at Paradise where service was held by Rev. N. H. Smith, assisted by Rev. J. W. Crawford. Interment was made In tfie cemotery at Paradise. Prlester Brcs., of Roynolds vllle having charge. Mr. Bonnett was a charter member of the K. of P. Lodge at this placo and was also a member of the Uniform Rank Company bb well as a member of the Protected Home Circle. Both orders turned out la a body and accompanied the remains to their last resting place. The Uni form Rank company mounted, acting as an escort and headed the procession followed by the remainder of the K. of P.Lodge. Six knights acting as pall bearers, and four as a floral committee, the flowers consisting of a pillow of carnations by wife and family, a tri angle In the colors of the order by the K. of P. a bouquet of llllles by the U. R. Co., a broken circle by the P. H. C, and a bouquet of carnations by the Pythian Sisters of which his wife belonged, and many other bouquets by different people. The funeral cortege was the largest held In this section of the country for many years, there being aboutjslxty cabs, carriages and other conveyances while many were compelled to remain In town on acoount of a means of conveyance. Wentworth Rodwell, a young lad of ten years, fell from a chestnut tree a few day ago and sustained several bruises on the body. A fine baby girl came to reside with Mr. and Mrs. George Allen one day re cently, and a big boy at tbe borne of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Parker. Mrs. John Law died at the home of her son, James Law. In Soldier Sept. 15 aftc an Illness of about two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Law accompanied by their three daughters sailed from Scot land Aug. 26th and arrived In Sold ier Sept. 3rd. Mrg. Law wag 111 when she went aboard the ship. She is sur vived by her husband and seven child ren. She was a member of tbe Presby terian church. Her age wag 67 years and 3 months. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. D. McKay, of Reynoldivllle Presbyterian church. Sykeavllle. Quite a number of people from here attended the Moore reunion at Emerlck ville last Saturday. James V. Murray, of Brookvllle, who Is a candidate for district attorney on the Republican ticket, was in town Tuesday. ' A crowd of young people attended a party at Philip Fillihart's, out in the oountry, Saturday night. All present report a pleasant time. The Sykesville Cornet band held a pie social In Smith's hall Friday even ing which proved a success. About fifty dollars was realized. On Wednesday, September 19th, Charles A. Sloppy, of DuBois, and Miss Geneva A. Grinder, of this placo, were united In marriage at the home of the bride's cousin, John Young, In JBrook vllle. They will go to housekeeping In Brookvllle in tbe near future. W. L. McCracken, of Brookvllle, who Is candidate for district attorney on the Democratic ticket, was In town Monday.
