A freight wreck occurred on the Low
Grade Division at Long Point tunnel
early yesterday morning. Eight or
nine cars wore wrecked. Some of tho
passenger trains wore dolayed on ac
count of the wreck.

I. O. O. F. banqueting hall last Friday
avening by members of the Knights of
Columbus and their ladies. The ladles
served a fine luncheon. "Tripping the

ures of the evening.
The Ladies' lAid Society of Trinity
Lutheran church will have a house-
warming and entertainment at the par
sonage, opposite the church, on Friday
evening, December 15, 1905. Friends
and neighbors as well as the members
of the church are cordially invited to
come and spend a pleasant evening in
the parsonage. One of the principle
features of the occasion will be a silver
offering for the parsonage fund. .
The ladles of the Presbyterian church
will hold a bazaar on Friday and Satur
day of this week in the room on Main
street occupied by Mr. Strouse as a
pla.o store. Something new for post
card collectors, and Christmas novelties
for sale. On Saturday afternoon a
market will be held. Sandwiches, cake
and coffee will be for sale during the
evenings. Contributions to the bazaar
are to be sent to the room on Thursday
evening.
The union Thanksgiving services held
in the Presbyterian church at 10.30 a.
m. last Thursday was well attended. It
was the largest congregation that has
attended a Thanksgiving service in
Reynoldsville for several years. Rev.
J. A. Parsons, pastor of the Methodist
Episcopal church, preached an excellent
sermon. His text was from Nebemlah
8-10, as follows : "Then be said unto
them, go your way, eat the fat, drink
the sweet, and send portions unto them
for whom nothing is prepared : for this
day Is holy unto our Lord : neither be
ye sorry ; for the joy of the Lord is your
strength." The Presbyterian choir fur
nished good muslo' for the service. A
special collection was taken to be divid
ed among the needy la the various
churohes represented.
Basket Ball.
Tho Athletic basket ball team of
Reynoldsville played tho Clailon team
at the latter place last Friday evening,
and our team was defeated. Score
31-20. A return game will be played In
the Association rooms at this place in
the near future, most likely Monday
evening, Deo. 11.

H. Mowery In West Reynnldavillo
Thanksgiving afternoon, November 30,
11105, when tholr daughter, Miss Dora
Mowery, was united In marrlngo to
John Davidson, of Eleanora. Rev. Dr.
J. A. Parsons, pastor of the Roynolds
villo M W. church, ofllointed. The
house was nlcoly decorated with flowers.
A fine wedding dinner was served.

and Mrs. C. C. Zoltlor, formerly of
l'unxsutawnoy, now of Washington,
D. C, and niece of O. A. Gray, of this
place, was married to James J. tluin

1905, by Rev. E. B. I'rettyman. Mr.
and Mrs. Ilanimcrsloy will make their
future homo at Washington, D. C,
whore Mr. llammorsley holds a posi
tion in tho foreign mail department of

The Real Thing.
Appropriate Thanksgiving progum
was given in tho primary department
of tho West Reynoldsville public
schools, Miss Maudu Meek teacher, hint
Thursday afternoon. There are sixty
pupils enrolled In the primary room and
there were some visitors present. Per
haps tho most Interesting part of tho
program was when the plo came 'round.
Ench person present was given two
pieces of pio. Thero were four kinds of
pie, mostly pumpkin. Now that, Is
something like Thanksgiving exercises.

The New Express.
Tho DuBois Evening Expnu, which
was purchased by David C. Whitehlll
last AugiiBt and has since been so
thoroughly Improved that there Is not a
somblanco of the old Expnx, made its
appearance last Friday enlarged to a
seven column paper and was printed
that day on a fast Duplex press, an
extra fine press for a town the size of
DuBois. Mr. Whitehlll Is certainly
keeping his promiso to make the
Exprem one of the best daily papers in
thtB section.
Friendship of Other Days.
J. W. Dawson, superintendent of tho
Enterprise Silk Co. plant at this placo,
received a Thanksgiving present last
week from a friend at Patorson, N. J.,
which he appreciates very much, not
for tbo Intrinsic value of the present so
much as the token of kind fellowship It
represents. Some years ago Mr. Daw
son found an opportunity to scatter a
few kind favor along a friend's path
way, and the K of P. jewel he received
Thanksgiving wits irlven as a token of
tho appreciation nf kindness of other
days.
Clarion Prtabytery.
Rov. A. D. McKay, pastor of tho
Presbyterian church, was at Falls
Creek last Wednesday afternoon at
tending a special session of the Clarion
Presbytery, which was called to dismiss
Rov. C. L. Bradsbaw, at his own re
quest, he having resigned as pastor of
the Brockway vlllo Presbyterian church
to accept the call to tbo pastorate of
West Sunbury Presbyterian church.
Kev. J. M. VanHorm, former pastor of
the Cumberland Presbyterian church at
Anita, was recoived as a member of the
Clarion Presbytery and accepted a call
as pastor of the Richardsvillo, Ilazen
and Sugar Hill Presbyterian churches.
Death of Jacob Wagner.
Jacob Wagner, a highly esteemed
and prosperous citizen of Worthvillo,
father of one of our leading merchants,
John H. Wagner, died at bis borne at
Worthvillo at noon on Saturday, De
cember 2, 1905, at the age of eighty
years. His death was caused by a
stroke of paralysis. Monday, Nov. 27,
Mr. Wagner helped butcher some pigs
and that night ho was stricken with
paralysis, big entire right side being
effected. Mr. Wagner was born in
Northumberland county, Pa., and when
a lad moved with bis parents to Jeffer
son county, locating in tho neighbor
hood of Worthvillo, where he spent his
life and was beloved by a host of neigh
bors and friends. Deceased was a
member of the German Lutheran church
many years. Fuuoral was held yester
day. Mr. Wagner Is survived by his
widow and following children : Mrs.

John H. Wagner, of Reynoldsville,
Mrs. Rieliy Jones, of Knoxdalo, Mrs.

Wedding at Rathmel.
At 4.00 p. m. on Thursday, November
30, 111115, Miss Sue David, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. August, David, of R .th-
niol, and Ralph DcLorm, boo of Mr.
aud Mrs. Myers DeLorm, of West
Liberty, were united in marriage at tho
home of the groom's parents. Tho at
tendants wore Miss Gertrude David,
sister of bride, as brldusmald, and A, E.

Tho wedding inarch was played by Miss
Ethel Keil. Tho ceremony wiib per
formed by Rev. Kaiiaar, of Falls Creek.
Tho bride wore a beautiful gown of
white silk and tho bridesmaid wan also
dressed In while. After congratula
tions a sumptuous supper was served.
Tho young couplo went to tholr new
homo at Sykesville. Both Mr. and Mrs.
DeLorm are highly respected among
their many friends, who wish them a
happy and successful future.

Early Sunday evonlng, about 7.30,
two robbers entered tho storo of M, II.
Stiles In PrcBcottvlllo by cutting a
light of glass out of a side window near
rear end of the storo and began do
llhoratoly to select tho goods thoy want
ed to carry away with thorn. There
was no light in the store and the rob
bers lighted matches occasionally to
aid them In gottlng what they wanted.
Mrs. Lydick, who resides opposite the
storo, saw the men In store and became
suspicious and no tilled her neighbors.
About a dozon mon of the town sur
rounded tho storo. The robburs had
taken oil tho front door lock after gain
ing an ontrance into tho store and when
thoy know that tho store had boon sur
rounded by citizens thoy mado a bold
break out of tbo front door, shooting as
they ran. F.G. Corbett, who was one
of the citizens in front of the. storo, was
shut In tbo right broast, but the bullet
struck the breast bone and glanced to
right sido, Inflicting a gore, but not
serious, flesh wound. Tho bullet was a
3H-calibre. It was a vory narrow
escape for Mr. Corbott. Tho robbers
getaway. One of them was tall and
the other one was a Bhort heavy man.

work was dono by persons familiar with
the storo.
Boys' Dormitory Burned.
Tho boys' dormitory at tho Indiana
Btato Normal sihool was completely
des'royed by fire on Friday afternoon of
last week, between the hours of four
and six o'clock. Tho origin of the fire,
which started in tho basement of the
building, Is unknown. Tbo flames
spread rapidly aftor gutting through
tho first floor. Had the fire occurred
at night thero would have boon an awful
talo of loss of llfo. The loss on build
ing, furnishings, personal e fleets ot the
teachers and students Is estimated at
150,000, with S,000 Insurance on the
building. The trustees of tho Normal
claim that a shortage of water was re
sponsible for tho destruction of tho
dormitory and It is likoly that Immediate
action will bo taken to Bocuro damage
from the wator company.
Lee Sch tigers, son of Levi Schugors,
was a student In tho Normal and all he
saved out of his room was his type

ville. Ga., December 7th, but gave that
trip up.

his brother, G. W. Stoke, Sr., In this
place the past week. Mr. Stoke was a
citizen of Roynoldsvillo twenty-eight
years ago and this is hia first visit to
tnwn since he moved away. There have
ben many improvements and changes
in town since he moved away.
