A. W. Scott, formerly of this place, who has extensive lumber operations at Garee, was In town Monday night of last week and registered at Hotel Sykes. He was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Garee. Mr. Scott was on his way to Pittsburg via Indiana. After spending a few days at Pittsburg he will go to North Carolina where lie is interested in the purchase of a large tract of lumber land.
