Main and Fifth Sta., Reynoldsville, Pa. It's What You Save that Counts. 'Squire 8. M. McDonald, of Porter township, was In Brookvllle, Monday of thlt woek, and told the following story, Illustrating tbo heading of this brief article. For some time past he bad a young man In bis employ, paying him 14 a month, with boarding, washing and mending added, and no deduction for rainy days. The young man bad two brothers working In the woods, for 11.50 a day, and boarded. The 'squire settled with his young man recently, and paid hi in ISO In cash. The young man went homo, taking his savings with him. The brothers who had been work ing In the woods came home about the same time. There was a festival an evening or two afterwards, which tbey all attended. The young mon who bud been receiving 11.50 a day and board, had to borrow money from their brother that worked for 114 a month, to pay their way at festival. Remember, boys, a ponny saved is often belter than two pennies earned. Brookvllle Democrat. We are acquainted with two brothers who were working In a elty a few years ago, one of whom then got a salary of 10"). 00 per month and tbo other one, who was learning a trade, was getting 14.00 pur week and had to pay $3.00 per week out of that for boarding, and it wits not an unfrequent thing for the fellow getting fiiS.OO per month to borrow money from the ouo working for 14.00 per week. The fellow that was getting 105.00 per month Is still working on a salary and does not own a homo' of his own, whllo the one that was gottlng four dollars per week then is now in buslnoss for himself and lives in a brick house which he owns, Why the dif ference ? Ono saved his money and the other didn't. Clercal Orders for igoj.
