Keep Your Word.
What a fine thing It Is to keep one's
word, and to keep it always. One does
not realize the full value of so doing
until he has had dealings with persons
and companies not scrupulous In this
regard. Then the force of the seeming
ly small matter breaks upon the con
science, and another example of tho
greatness of littlo things Is added to
our already long list. He exact. Say
just what you monn, and If you can't
mean all you say, keep still. The world
may go next door once or twice, but It

Foreigners Returning.
Thoro Is at present a remarkable
movoinunt on the part of foreigners
going back to their native lands In
Kurnpe, from all parts of wostern Penn
sylvania, and especially from the Mon
ongnhela valley. These Include Huns,
Slavs, Croatlons, Poles, Italians and
other nationalities engaged In the
rough labor which has been so abund
ant for a few years In this region. It Is
estimated that in tho past few weeks
from 4,000 to 5,000 of them have gono
from this part of state. They have had
great prosperity for some years and
have mado and saved monoy, but at the
first sign of a slack in production many
of them turn to their old homes. Tbey
can pay tholr fares both ways and live
through the winter cheaper In the old
country than they can remain In Amer
ica during the winter. The cost of
living In the old country Is very low
12 In United States money being equal
to to in Hungarian money. A man
who goes back home with $200 Is con
sidered to be In unusally good circum
stances for a laborer and Is the envy of
all who have not been to the United
States. Elizabeth lhmltl. .

under the personal management of Mr.

5th. The compnnv comprises fifty
people, Including a dozen special artists,
two quartets, a superb orchestra, and
many colored comudiuns who add to tho
big production not a little by their
spontaneous wit and clever singing and
dancing. Watch for tho big parade.

Climatic Cures.
Tbe Influence of climatic conditions
in the cure of consumption Is very much
overdrawn. Tbe poor patient, and the
rlob patient, too, can do much better at
home by proper attention to food di
gestion, and a regular use of German
Syrup. Free expectoration In the
morning Is made certain by German
Syrup, so is a good night's rest and the
absence of that weakening cotigb and
debilitating night sweat. Restlets
nights and tbe exhaustion due to
coughing, the greatest danger and
dread of the consumptive, cau be pre
vented or' stopped by taking German
Syrup liberally and regularly. Should
you be able to go to a warmer clime,
you will find that of the thousands .of
oonsumptlves there, the few who aro
benefitted and regain strength are those
who use German Syrup. Trial, bottles,

High School Bulletin.
Edited by Members of the
Reynoldsville High School
One of tho principal events of the
school term is tho Publio School Loo-
turo Course. Prof. Smith has secured
the best talent possible and therefore
looks forword to a profitable and In
structive course. Hut Prof. Smith and
tho school can not make the course a
success unless thoy aro supported by
the patrons. And the definition of a
patron not only means one who protects,
(generally in this particular town,
verbally,) but one who supports finan
cially.
The Sonlor and Junior classes are
now canvassing tho town, selling lecture
course tickets.

Hallowe'en parties and other kind of
parties were numerous last Friday and
Saturday nights.
A firm in Rochester sent Bn offer to
tfio girls of the Freshman class, to the
effect that If they would send two cent
postage stamps the firm would send a
class pin for every stump. The girls
were so delighted that tbey sent In an
order for a gross. What thoy are going
to do with them remains to be seen.

Forgetfulness.
"Young man, did you ever put your
arms around your dear old mother who
has loved and cared for you, and tell
her that you love her and are grateful
for the tears she has shed and the
prayers she has offered for you? She
may think that you love her without
your assuring he i that you do, but it
costs you but little effort to tell her
aud your words may bring more joy and
sunshine to ber heart than you over
dreamed of. Some young men will pay
ir2.00 for a livery rig to rldo three hours
with a 75 cent girl and tell ber all the
nice things he can think of that are
true, and more that are not true, and
don't spend five cents or five minutes In
year to show their old mother that
thoy care anything for her." So writes
somebody whose heart is in the right
pluce.
Folly.
It is a peculiarity of human nature
that people worry themselves most and
fret and fmno most violently about
thoHU thing which affect their real
happiness the least. Little insignifi
cant things are mude the eccaslon of
explosions of wrath that would scarcely
be justified by a very serious calamity.
This Is, porhaps, owing to the condition
of tho liver, and is a physical rather
than a psych lo phenomenon. It is
therefore not improbable that tbe
failure to take a little 'exercise or a
little liver pill at tho proper time often
results in a tragedy. Punxsutawney
