The Panther Run Railroad is the name of tbe new coal road that Is being built from near Sandy Valley to the new mines in Washington township. Tbe 18th of last April the P. S. & N. R. R. Co. bad an injunction served on the Panther Run Railroad Co. to stop the building of the new branch, as the P. S. & N. Co. clairaod the road was being built on a survey they had previously made. Judge Reed heard the cose at the May term of argumont court and dismissed the bill and dissolved tbe in junction. Tbe P. S. & N. Co. filed ex ceptions In tbe case and it came up be fore Judge Reed at argument court last week. Tbe court again dismissed the bill and dissolved the prelimi nary injunction. If the P. S. & N. Y. , Will was naturally bright and witty and a course In tho above collogo gave him a good start to become a brilliant man in literary work. The Roynoldsvillo Ili.rnhl was started In 1874 and Will was editor of that paper two years. For a year ho wns editor of Fitltl ami Strritm, a monthly magazine published In Now York, re signing tho editorship of tliut magazine two years ago. Ho had considerable talent as an artist and besides literary work he spont some tlmo in painting, mostly portraits. In late years ho de voted most of his timo to tho latter work. He bad a studio at East Orange and had gained quite a reputation as an artist on account of tho flno work he could do. With bis fine physique, dig nified appenranco, literary ability and Bkill as an artist, ho was woll equipped to mako a success in life. Deceased Is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Capt. T. This union was blessed with six children, five Bons and one daughter, tho eldest eleven yours, and tho youngest six months old. About the tlmo of Mr. Brody's mar riage he bought out tho bakery busi ness of Gottlieb Bohren, now of Reyn oldsvllle, and later bought the site now occupied by a commodious brick build ing. Ho was an upright, honest clti.en, always falling In line with the leading business men in the furtherance of the bost interest of DuBois. His last illness dates from the first of the present year, he had not been in his store sinco February. Besides bis wifo and children, be leaves a sister, Mrs. G. Bohren, of Roynoldsvillo, and a brother, L. C. Brody of Driftwood. Ho carried a life Insurance of $2,000, pay able to his wife. Y., but was forced to miss school tbe past year on account of having had a hard tussle with typhoid fever, was at Ithaca the past woes: shaking hands with his old classmates. Ethan E. Stewart, tbe marble dealer, has sold bis brick residence on Grant street to G. T. Woodford, the pop man, has also disposed of his household goods, and this afternoon Mr. Stewart and family start to Seattle, Wash., where they will reside. Mr. Stewart spent several years in Washington and he likes that section of the country better than he does Pennsylvania. Success to you Mr. Stewart in your new home. A Memorable Day. Memorial Day in Beech woods as cele brated last Saturday in honor of the Nation's dead, marked an important epoch in the history of that renowned and memorable place, and it was an occasion that will long be remembered by over 2,000 people who were in at tendance. Beecbwoods was a point of especial Interest that day, as it always Is on the 30th of May, and people from all sections participated in the celebra tion. An important feature of the day's program was tho march of the large procession, followed by over 100 car riages and conveyances, to tbe cemetery where impressive services were held and graves decorated. Brief addresses were made by Rev. Joel Smith, of Boechtree, Hon S. B. Elliott, of Reyn oldsville, and Dr. J. W. McKnight, of Brookvillo, after which the procession moved back to the grove, where dinner was served, each family and friends forming happy groups and furnishing an unique picture. The afternoon program was interest ing throughout, being interspersed with muslo ana patriotic speeches. F. B. Harvey was chairman of the day. After some good music Rev. George H. Hill, offered a beautiful petition to the God of ail, Capt. L. M. Truxal, of DuBois, followed with an address which warmed the hearts of all present to a degree of patrlotio excitement. He cited the war days and the progress of the country and gave a glowing tribute to the memory of the comrades in whose honor tho day Is observed. Space will not permit our giving a detailed de scription of the addresses made. Prof. J. G. Dailey, of Fredonla. JT. Y., was present and rendered a beautiful boss solo entitled, "Pin the Old Flag to My Bosom Once More," which was the subject of much praise and favorable comment. Dr. J. W. McKnight, of Brookvllle. followed with an excellent address, and Hon. S. B. Elliott, of Reyuoldsville, honored the assembly with a brief but forcible speech on patriotism and good citizenship, also in glowing terms call ed to memory the days of war and un pleasantness, and the glory of peace, re union and prosperity that prevails to day. The Washington Township Memorial Association bold a business session at four o'clock.
