Big; Crowd and Big Time Anticipated
Friday of This Week.
Friday of this week th.! tenth annual
reunion of tho Northwestern Reunion
Association, Knights of Golden Ragle,
will be held In Reynoldsvllle. It Is ex
pected that thero will be a big crowd In
town that day nnd tho program that wo
publish below Indicates thero will bo
fun galoro for lovers of sports. Tho
first thing on the program of the day
will be a big street parade. The parade
will form on Broadway, West Royn
oldsvllle, headed by Falls Creek band
Will parade tip Main street to Fifth, to
Grant, to Seventh, to Main, to Tenth,
to Jackson, to Fifth, to Main nnd
down Muln to Frank's Park, whore
addresses will ba made by Grand offi
cers, Rev. A. J. Meok, Ph. D., and Rev
J. C. McEntire. The sports and races
will take pluce immediately after tho

C. V. SfllTH, PRINCIPAL-ELECT OF THE
REYNOLDSVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Below we publish a short biographi
cal sketch of Prof. C. V. Smith, principal-elect
for tho public schools of
Reynoldsvllle. Ho was born near
Mlddlelown, Md. Attended the public
schools In tho Immediate vicinity and at
tho ago of eighteen entered a private
preparatory school In his native town.
Hero he continued his studies fur
enough to admit blm to tho freshmen
class at Franklin and Marshall College.
During tho ensuing two years he taught
In the public schools and at the sarao
time pursued his preparatory studies
sufficiently to enable blm to enter the
sophomore class under conditions. In
1887 he was admitted to that -class at
Frunkltn and Marshall from which
Institution ho was graduated In 1SU0
taking third honor and delivering tho
salutatory on commencement day. For
two years after graduating he served as
the prlnuipul of the Collegiate Institute
at Wulkersvlllo, Md. In 181 12 he was
given tho professorship , of Greek,
German, Mathematics and the Sciences
In Mereersburg College which position
he filled very acceptably. When Dr.
W. M. Irvine succeeded Dr. G. W.
Aughinbaugh In 1803 as president of
Mereersburg College, Prof. Smith was
made a member of the faculty at the
bend of the Latin department. The
next year he was transferred to tho do'
purtmentof History, German and the
Natural Sciences. In this capacity ho
