Soft Coal Market.
Coal Trade Journal.1
The soft coul market of the seaboard
Is not In vt favnrahla a condition an we
would like to soe, and the decreased de
mand (or bituminous coul at the east
ward Is a somewhat ominous token. It
has so ofton happened that a falling oft
of demand on the part of eastern manu
facturer!) has been tho forerunner of
himlness depression In certain lines that
It may well be questioned whether the
time Is not ripe for a curtailment of
bituminous production. Tho output of
soft coat is now so largely under the
control of one financial Interest that we
do not look for any sorlons overstocking
of the market, but evidently the time
Is an opportune occasion to bring pro
duction to a tower level. In tho central
and western trado the bituminous situa
tion Is somewhat bettor owing to the
demniid for railway fuol and for other
purposes aside from manufacturing.
The western trade Is of course greatly
Interested In the forthcoming conven
tion but the result of that can scarcely
bo discussed tn advance.
At Ruffalo soft coat Is coming In bet
ter supply, and a corresponding exten
sion of trado Is the result. Handlers
of bituminous are rubbing their hands
In satisfaction and tell you frankly their
trade was never bettor at this season of
tho year. Tn fiiet tho usual let up after
the holidays has not yet put In an ap
pearance and tho present conditions of
lively demand promiso to continue for
some time to come. As with anthra
cite, prices are well maintained and
orders are fully equal to the amount of
stock received, If thoy do not go beyond
that.
There Is much eastern money seeking
Investment tn western Pennsylvania
coal lands at present. In counties ad
joining Allegheny particularly there Is
great demand for land for mining, and
deals which Involve over (1,000,000
have been closed, and negotiations are
on for more acreage ,
A Miraculous Escape.
Last Sunday afternoon Mary London,
daughter of Jof London, was struck by
the "Flyer" near her home, about two
miles above Big Run. She attempted
to cross the track ahoad of tho train,
when she was caught by a projection on
the side of the engine and hurled about
twenty feet. Her clothing was nearly
torn off and she received a slight cut on
the bead, but was not seriously Injured.

Question Answered.
Yes, August Flower still has the lar
gest sale of any medicine in the civilized
world. Your mothers and grandmoth
ers nover thought of using anything
else for indigestion or biliousness. Doc
tors were scarce, and they seldom heard
of Appendicitis, Nervous Prostration,
or Heart Failure, etc. Thoy used Au
gust Flower to clean out the system and
stop fermentation of undigested food,
regulate the action of the liver, stimu
late the nervous and organlo action of
the system, and that Is all they took
when feeling dull and bad with head
aches and other aches. You only need
a few does of Green's August Flower, In
liquid form, to make you satisfied there
Is nothing serious the matter with you.
