GOING TO FARM.
Four Society-bred Gentlemen are Doing
the "Wondering Minstrel ' Act.
A quartette of McDonald's leading
society gent lemon drove to Jefferson
county Thursday, where they will as
sist the father of 'two of tho gentle
men In harvesting. Aft'ir tho work on
tho farm Is done they will drive through
the country selling song books, mnndo-
n strings and incidentally to pick tip a
w odd pennies doing the "Wandering
Minstrel" In small towns. Of course it
will look rather out of place to see four
society-bred gentlemen attired In the
garments of the typical farm hand,
driving horses hitched to rubber-tlred
vehicles, but that Is their mode of
travel. At Kittanning they tuned their
strings and played; as they did so the
people stood with mouth wldu open
staring at the quartette In blink amaze
ment, while the boys brought forth
sounds like Orpheus' lute, whose golden
touch could soften steel and stones,
make tigers tame and huge leviathans
forsake unsounded deeps to dance on
sands. Joe, being a vocalist, to their
instruments tuned a deploring dump,'
nd It was long into the night before
the sweet concert was broken up, Joe'e
uties also Included "passing the hat."
They will visit Luthersburg. Sykesvllle,
Troutvllle and Reynoldsvllle before re
turning home, which will be Inbout
two weeks. Wo will not mention the
names of the boys becauso they might
consider this a roast, and as we over
heard Will tell John they would got
Doc and Joe to assist them in doing the
reporter if anything appeared in tbe
litrord coneerlng their trip. McDonald
