Here's the Answer-
Art Auxiliary Bell Line
Do you recall how you tried to get Jones, found, his
line busy and gave Smith the order?
Do your customers, when they telephone, ever fail
, to get you and give their business to others for.
the same reason?
It's as important to have enough telephone en
trances to 'your business as clerks to handle
your goods. An Auxiliary Line costs little. Call
the Business Office to-day.

TO TEST EUGENIC THEORY.
Committee of Medical Review of Re

Standard Couple Will Be Offered
Inducements to Wed.
A eugenic marriage the matching
and mating of a man and a woman as
near to physical, mental and moral
perfection us Is possible la plaiiued by
Frederic II. Robinson of New York
city, president of the sociological fund
committee of the Medical Review of
Hevluti'3.
As far as Mr. Robinson Is aware, the
prospective bride and bridegroom have
never met nor heard of each other. Mr.
Robinson himself knows neither of
them. They will bo selected by a jury
of doctors, men and women. Any one
can apply- Once the selections are
made the two examples of robust liu
mnnlty will be presented to each other.
Then may follow the only hitch in
the plan. Either may decide the other
Impossible, and the match may there
fore fall. But. taking It for granted
that two persons, each Judged by the
laws of eugenics fit to become the par
ents of children, may bo matched con
genially, they will face the plan broach
ed by Mr. Robinson.
Hopes to Test Theories.
"This Is not original, except in the
fact that we will carry It through if
possible," said Mr. Robinson in a re
cent Interview. "It has been mulled
over by theorists. Now for a material
experiment.
"It is suggested to me that a fund of
$1,000 be raised to further the idea.
One-half of it will go to the bride and
the bridegroom when they n-e married.
The other 500 will bo theirs when the
first child is born. To start the ball
rolling, I can personally guarantee that
the sociological fund of the Medical
Review of Reviews will post $o00.
"Now, It is for some person or organ
ization interested to guarantee the oth
er ?."0O.
"The lists are open to anybody who
chooses to enter the competition. Wo
bar no man nor woman -who Is willing
to bo examined physically and mental
ly and to open the way for us to search
Ills or her ancestry for physical or
mental blemishes. The applicants shall
be examined by physlclaus of their own
sex.
Applicants Will Be Graded.
"We shall examine ns many appli
cants as may apply. They will be
graded on a percentage basis, and
when we are satisfied that we have
found one man and one woman who
indicate their abilities to bo the par
ents of healthy, clean and normal chil
dren wo shall make an effort to have
them marry.
'Social class will not bo considered.
We are examining the human animal,
not searching for n Lochlnvar. All ap
plications may be sent to me at the
offices of the Medical Review of Re
views." Mr. Robinson's offices aro located at
208 Broadway, New York city. On
the sociological fund committee with
him are Norman napgood, chairman;
Mrs. O. H. P. Belmont, Eugene Brieux,
Mrs. Charlotte Perkins Gllman, Dr.
Abraham Jacobi, airs. AVllliam K.
Vanderblit, Sr., Ella AVheelor AVllcox
and Dr. Ira S. AA'lle.
Applicants, men and women, should
write at once to Mr. Robinson. Some
degree of pulchritude Is a necessary
adjunct to physical wholesomeuess.

Important changes In the method of
admitting candidates to the AVest Point

merle prlnciplo from tho whole list of
alternates, instead of being restricted
to the alternate from tho district where
