John R. Rudd, proprietor of the
Forest City News, a former resident
of Glrdland, this county, who years
ago wrote Interesting letters to The
Citizen under the nom de plume of
"Anvil," attended the supreme na
tional conclave of Heptasophs at
Milwaukee, Wis., recently. He made
the outgoing trip from Buffalo, N.
Y., by boat. On tho way home from
his 2500-mile Journey he stopped
off to. visit relatives in Michigan and
Ohio, He writes relatives In Hones
dale that he Is enjoying a splendid
time.

A civil suit was heard before
'Squire Smith, Tuesday afternoon in
which Mrs. ,R. W. Penwarden was
plaintiff and Cecil T. Weeks, defend
ant. The amount of debt was
$4.10 for feed, which defendant had
purchased from plaintiff's husband.

would pay the bill and costs,

The Washington team, of which
"Sherry" of Honesdale Is a pitcher,
will play in New York part of this
week, commencing on Friday and
Saturday and continuing over till
next week Monday and Tuesday.
Washington is scheduled to play
eleven games with Npw York and
Philadelphia, two of the hardest
teams there are to battle against. A
number of Honesdale people expect
to witness some of the games.

Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock hy Rev.
C M. Olmstead, D. D., pastor of the

master mechanic for the Delaware,

Mrs. Mary Reed Evans, wife of
