A couple of months ago Ray Stev ens hnd a horse that run a nail Into its foot, and the animal does not Im prove very fast. Our faithful and accommodating mall carrier, Grove Shearer, Is taking a fortnight vacation if ho can stand so long a rest and P. M. and John Olllner are enjoying a pleasant vaca tion also'. On tho 23rd, Itally day wns duly observed in tho Sunday school, and everything passed off nicely. The church presented tho appearance, of a county fair, nnd we had the best col lection of fruit, grain, -and vegetables in the church that we ever saw in Sterling. On Sunday evening tho Ladies' Aid j gave a "harvest home supper" nnd ro-j allzed about $15.00. The "Old Maid's Convention" set a number of the bachelors a-thlnking; and now1 reports says one fair- young Twig is blooming for one sturdy farmer, and in another case tji'e cli max is reached and Frank B. Kend rew and Miss Katie .M. Neville were united in the holy bonds of matri mony this week. Congratulations. One evening a number of their friends called upon the happy couple and gave them a welcome.
