disposed of during tho week. Thcro were

Jano Davis was tho prostcutor In a caso In
which she charges her mother, Mrs. Annlo
Llewellyn, of Shenandoah, with perjury.
Tho prosecutor was called bcloro tho court,
when the District Attorney staled mat mir
ing the last September term Mrs. Davis had
pleaded guilty to the chargo of forcible
entry and detainer, of which tlio mother, tho
efctidaiit in tlio perjury caso, was tho prose
cutor. Sentence upon Mrs. Davis was then
suspended upon her promising to reuiovo
from tho property In question, the daugh.
tor had, therefore, confessed to tho crime of
which her mother had charged her with, and
cure thore could bo no perjury. The court
ordered tho caso nol. pros. ,
Anthony Switslowicz, of Shonandoah,
charged with interfering with nn olllcer, on
oath of Martin Foyle, was found guilty, and
sentenced to pay a fine of $1 and the costs.
Stanley Armalasky, selling iluuor nn Sun
day, oath of Joseph Fedorwlch, not guilty
iiiul prosecutor for costs.
Georgo Pcrambo, assault and larceny, on
ath of William Auls : not guilty, pay two-
thirds of the costs and tho prosecutor one
third. John Lenahan, of Mahauoy Ulty, was
found not guilty of forgery, and county for
costs.
Tho grand Jury found n true bill against
Leo Long, formerly of Sheuaudonh, iu which
ho is charged by J. JToolo with embracery.
Tho particulars of this caso, In which it is
barged that Long tampered with Juryman
Matt Blazls, during tbo trial of a replevant
suit in connection with the soloon iu the
Peters building In that town aro already
familiar to tbo reader.
The Grand Jury ignored the bill against
Adam Beudlgo, a supervisor of Porter town
hlfi. who was charged with misdemeanor In
iilllre, ou the oath of Daniel S. llcrger, and
tbo costs wero placed on tho p'osccutor. Tho
chargo against Bcndigo was that of issuing
fraudulent orders ou John F. Snyder, the
township treasurer, for labor and supplies
that it was alleged wero never furnished.
The Baltic Brewing Company caso, in
which thev are charged with soiling beor in
Shenandoah without a county license, was up
before tlio grand jury again yesterday after
noon. It will be remembered that John
Smith, agent for tlio company, was arrested
under tho above charge and at the last term
of court tho graud jury found a truo.blll.
Yesterday Jerro G. Gallivan, president of
tho company, was also Indicted by tho graud
jury for the samo offense Tho prosecutor iu
both these cases is John J. Toole.
Peter Stcpulaltis of Shenandoah, pleaded
guilty to the larceny of $370 from his board
ing house keeper, John Brazukis. Ho broke
open tho prosecutor's trunk nnd removed a
box containing the money. Ho bid tho
treasuroon tho hill, but subsequently re
turned 210 of It. Judge Bechtel said the
(illeiue was a heilous one, particularly Bince
tho defendant viulated his confidential rela
tions with his landlord. Stcpulaitis has been
Iu jail since October 91th. Ho was sentenced
to pay tho costs, a flue of 25 and one year's
imprisonment from this date.
This morning argument was heard before
Judges Porshiug and Marr. at the resideuco
of the former in Pottsville, on tho petition
filed by ex District Attorney Bechtel in
which ho claims the appointment of Guy E.
Farquhar, Esq , wa3 Illegal, In that there
was no vacancy, Mr. CumuiingS, tbo District
Attorney-elect, having neglected to tako tho
oath of ofBco, and therefore be, Mr.
Bechtel, remains District Attorney until his
successor is elcctol. Mr. Bechtel was repre
sented by his father The Judges reserved
their decision, but assurrcd those interested
that an Oir'y decision would bo forthcoming.

Mrs. A "nle Powaloski caused tho arrest of
her husluiid, Anthony, last night on a charge
of beating her aud pulling hands full of hair
from her head. Justice Shoemaker put the
husband under $300 ball.
