Nora, daiighterof John and Mary Mrtluire,
of West Line street, died yesterday, aged one
year, nine mouths and nineteen days. Death
was unused by pneumonia. Tho funeral will
take place at - p. 111. to-morrow and tho
mains will be interred in St Joseph's ceme
tery at Oirardvillo, the funeral proceeding to
that placo by electric cars.

CORONER'S INQUEST.
Investigation Into tliu Cuiisn of 11 Holler

Deputy Coroner Fogaity and a jury, at
Mahanoy City yosleiday, held an inquest in
tho cases of Thomas Maheraud John Marratt,
who died from Injuries received by the boiler
explosion at Paik No. 3 colliery, Trenton, on
tho Slst Inst, and tho following verdict was
rendotid: "That the said Thomas Mahor
and John Marr.ill came to thoir deaths 011 tho
S2nd day of June, A. D , 1M3, nt Park Place,
by a boiler explosion.
The examination of witnesses was con
ducted principally by Mine Inspector William
Stein and among tho witnesses examined
weie ltobert Layman, of llrooklyn, N. Y.,
boiler Inspector for tho Fidelity and Casualty
Company ; Superintendent Kdvvaid Hccsc,
Ldward Sykes, outside foreman, John Her
bine, fireman, and ,Tcso Wyatt, machinist.
The evidence adduced was that tho boiler
which uxplodcd had been leguhuly tested,
that there were no indications of defects in
material or construction, safety valves and
water gauges were In good working order,
that Mahcr, one of the deceased, was the
fireman in charge and competent, ami none
could give oven an opinion as to what caused
the explosion.

Judge Koch has filed his opinion in the
mandamus proceedings, brought by C. W.
llrower, warden of the county prison, to
compel Controller Snyder to ciulorso tho
warrant for his salary, amounting to $1(10.07.

and llrower was diiectcd to pay the costs.
Thus tho Controller is sustained in his
position.
