lesident. died to-day at his home, No. 110
West Oak street, from heart failure. He had
been ill for somo time. The decoased was

Canfleld, died at the family lcsidenco on

ville to Philadelphia about two months ago,

ex-Sheriff Dudy for $10,000 damage doue to
thu health of her daughtor, Mary. About
fifteen years ago when they conducted a
meat market in Tamaqua, they were ojocted
from their home to pay a debt of $300. At
the time Mary was down with typhoid fever

let her remain until sho could find other

An Election Kelio.
Anthony P. Mcl.oughlin, of Lost Creek,
appeared before Justice Shoemaker last
night as complainant against Itichard liar-
ictt. Mcl.oughlin alleged that while ho was
011 his way home from the Lost Creek poll on
election day Barrett, and four other men
whoso identity the complainant does not
know, knocked him down by striking him
witli some unknown weapon. McLougblin
says that after he fell to the ground ho was
kicked into insensibility, liarrett entered
plea of not guilty, but refused to make any

laborer were painfully but not dangerously

plosion of gas iu Packer No. 2 colliery yes
terday afternoon. It is stated that a lull of
coal occurred and the released gas made its
nay to the breast in which tho victims were
working and was ignited by their lamps.
