Why is it every sarsapnrilla
which tnes to sell itself, ranges
itself against Ayer's as the stand

thu one inducement of quality V
has never been equaled by any
cheap imitation of it, and quality

the bst blood purifier that has ever been
introduced to tho general public. I often
hear other nnnufacturers say that this is

By the clever maneuvers of Maltre

that the reason that he objected to the

handed to his Judges without Its being
communicated either to the prisoner or

till the question wns put to him by the
Judges, who would, of course, have re

they had convicted Dreyfus on a Becret

Wilkesharre, I'a., Feb. 14. The Mar
tin trial on Saturday developed little
new evidence. One Important witness,
however, was alary Kohler, who was
a servant living with John Williams, nt
Luttliner, at tho time of the shooting;.
In her cross examination she said the
people of Lattlmer wore afraid when
they heard the strikers were marching
toward them, and were In terror lest
their houses be broken Into. 31 r. nr-
mnn finally made her uunllfy this chim
nslnB evidence by tho statement that
the people were nlso afraid that the
deputies were Eolnc to shoot.
A liiont Important, witness was John
J'etruska, 11 huckster. He testified:
,t Hnzleton 1 saw the deputies get
tlnir suns nt u hardware store. I heard
tho people Inquire, nnd the men said
they were colnc to shoot. I went home.
put away rny horses and. went to Lat

on the left of the road with the mln
ers, about 23 steps away from the dep
uties. 1 saw the sheriff come to the
people. He had a revolver, and pointed
It Into the people's faces. I was four
steps awav from him. Suddenly he
disappeared, and the shooting began.
The miners were doing nothing when
the sheriff pointed the pistol in their
faces. One man pushed his arm with
the pistol away and the sheriff dlsap
peared, together with the deputies. :
heard a man call 'lire' near the depu
ties." His testimony was unshaken on
