Negotiations for the sale of the Merchants'
hotel property by Francis Kcltir to D. J.
Thomas, late of Morea, are ahutit complete.
Mr. Keiser will retire from business and
locate at Orvgnburg.
Uetbcn Powell and family will in a few
days leave for Philadelphia and take passage
for Glamorganshire, South Wales, where
thoy will locate permanently. The "family
was surprised last ovening by a .visit from
about fifty friends, several bolng from Sheu
andoah. Mr. Powell Is a member of Coum il
and is a musician and choir leader of ability.
His services have always been In demand at
Welsh gatherings here.
Dr. Hannah Watklns and daughter. Miss
Maine, will leave to-morrow for Now York
city and on Saturday will sail for Liverpool.
They will then go to Glamorganshire, South
Wales. After sjieuding a few weeks there
Dr. Watkins will go to I.nndon and take a
post graduate course iu oue of the leading
colleges of that city.

Saturday will be a ghr day at Trenton,
near Delano, when a flag will be raised on the
now school house theie. Washington Camp
No. 72, P. O. S. of A., will have charge.
Quito an elaborate program has been pro
pared. The camp, accompanied by tbe
Delano band, will meet nt Si p. in. and pro
ceed to the Delano school house, where the
teachers and school children will join them
and parade to Trenton. The exercises will
take place at S p. in. and the following pro
gram will be rendered : Singing, "Ainersoa";
prayer, llev. J. C. Grimes, Delano ; presenta
tion of flag, J. M. Schrope, principal
or the Delano schools; acceptance by
the president of the. Delano School Hoard;
