Mutdoun'a Hew hotel, tho imiioslng struc
ture built on tlie lines of colonial nrchltcc
lure at the northwest comer of Ceutro and
West streets, has reached the stage of com.
pletlon and to-morrow the proprietor, Mr.
II. J. Muldoon, will celebrate the event by
having a grand opening in tho cafe, a mag
nificent place which has been fitted up re
gardless of cost. In outward appearance tho
hotel is the prettiest building in the town
and in general appointments there Is 110
1 hotel in the county tliBt surpasses, and few
equals it. Thousands of dollars havo
been spent In the alterations of the property
t,hat baro been in progress for months lt
and It has beeil transformed into 11 veritable)
palace. Thcro are tncnty-flvo apartments In
the building, cadi one largo and well lighted
and excellently adapted for tlicliotel business.
On tho second floor tbero is a spacious parlor
and nine largo bedrooms, anil on the third
floor ten elegant sleeping apartments. There
is also on tho second floor a bathroom with
all modern improvements including n largo
porcelain lined bath tub furnished by K.
Gallagher, who also superintended tho plumb-
work for tho building. Joseph llell had tho
contract for- tho building and carried
it out with excellent satisfaction to
Mr. Muldoon and great credit to himself. Y.
V. Bell furnished tho gas anil electric light
fixtures and hot water heating nppqratus for
the building, T.' W. -Convlllo tho painting
and John P. Card in tho paper hanging, all of
which havo contributed very mntonally to
the beauty and completeness of the structure
Tho cafe is a gem. It is furnished in heavy,
handsomely carved oak bar fixtures with
mammoth panels of heavy, bevelcd-cdgcd
plato glass and tho surrounding fixtures pur-
tako of proportionate magnificence. Mr,
Muldoon proposes to conduct tho cafo on
strictly metropolitan lines and will sparo 110
pains or expense to keep it on that plane.
Thclbar will bo stocked with thetery best
brands of wines, liquors, ales, beers, porters
and cigars, Imported as well as domestic, anil
tho famous Pschorr llrau beer will always bo
kept on tap. The formal opening of tho safe
