dits had not yet been overtaken.
Early yesterday morning a bund of four
men, bolleved to havo !een members of
tho gang that raided Carney, uppenred at
Mulhall, held up a Ilvury stable keeper
nml compelled him to supply them with a
relay of fresh horses. News was also ro
celved at thu I'nlted States marshal's of
fice that two men supposed to have been
members of tho gang hud stopped nt a
farm house about llfteen miles northeast
of heroaud demanded food. Sovoral United
(states marshals are In pursuit.

hands of the intruder after a desperate

however, succeeded In making his escape
from tho Trujillo residence. Ho was
traced for blocks by the trail of blood and
Ultimately discovered, severely wounded,
at Hellovue hospital, where ho was being
treated as a patient.
