Thoso who do not participate In tho hor

ure claiming with sonsatlonal lmprosslvo

tortnlnmcnt In tho oxprosslons of tnolr
scepticism,
A roprosentiitlvo of tho Associated I'ross
has mado somolnnulrlM at Scotland Yard
as to tho mothotls pursued In shadowing
tho plotters and as to how It Happened
that tho authorities woro so woll lnforinod
of tho plans of tho plotters In ndvanco. It
was stated thoro that tho work had bcon
dono in tho Unltod States by tho Pinker
ton agonoy, who had for years forwarded
every week tho fullost roports of ovory
mooting of any revolutionary body In tho
Unltod States, ospoclnlly in Chicago and
Now York. The osplonago maintained
on gathorlngs In thoso two oltles Is re
markably oomploto. There Is a full fllo
In Scotland Yard of all resolutions, docu
ments, etc., pertaining to tho gatherings
and full descriptions of tho members and
their actions.
It Is a notablo fact that tho police au
thorities of Paris oxpross groat scorn for
tho liloa that thoro was any connection be
tween any plot that Tynan may havo con
cocted and an attompt upon tho Ufo of tho
czar. I ho elaborate tale of collusion 00
tweon tho Fenians and continental an-
archlsts and Itusslan nihilists Is laughod
at in Paris. Tho suspicion Is broadly
hinted at that tho story of Tynan being
Implicated In a plot against tho person of
tho czar was coneoctod for no other pur-
poo than to appeal to tho political sym
pathy of Franco towards Hussla to effect
a consent to tho extradition of 'lynan.
It Is perfectly evident that Scotland Yard
Itself shares tho Fronch view of thoallcgod
Fcnlan-nlhlllst combination, as thero has
been no change In tho preparations already
mado to guard tho ezar upon his fortn,
coming visit to London. Tho preparations
aro tho same ns thoso usually mado upon
tho visit of any foreign sovereign to Lon
don. Thero Is no stock taken at Scotland
Yard In tho ldoa that Tynan meant to
blow up Marlborough Houso while tho
Prlnco orW alos and tho ezar woro within.
Tho Irish leaders In London and Dublin
reaard tho arrests of tho alleged dynamito
plottors with consternation. A project
has boon on foot over since tho adjourn
ment of parliament to obtain tho releaso
of all tho Irish political prisoners a pro
loot which was oucouragod by tho rocont
action of tho government In releasing
from Portland prison Dr. Thomas Galla
ghor, Alburt O. Whitehead, John Daly
and Thomas Doveny. It was Intended to
Inaugurate a great demonstration in bo
half of tho prisoners and an agitation In
the press, followed by a llorco attack In
tho house of commons In January. Tho
disclosures In connection with tho arrests
nre considered unfavorable to tho success
of this plan.
Tho Dublin Independent says: -'Tho
so-called plot Is moro Uko a plot against
Ireland. Tho reloaso of somo of tho Irish
political prisoners accusod of dynamito
ouenses had no soonor called forth somo
protests In England than thoso sonsational
arrestsln connection with a new plot nro
announced. Wo emphatically protest
against tho deliberate offort being made
to turn this plot ngalnst Ireland and tho
unfortunates now in prison."
Tho Assoelatod Press has received a dls
patch from Boulogno-Sur-3Ior which says
that Tynan was taken beforo tho publlo
prosecutor tqoro yostorday aftomoon, and
was Interrogated as to hlsantocodoutsnnd
as to the murders of Thomas Ilonry Ilurke
and Lord Froderlck Cavondlsh InPhtonlx
Park, Dublin, In 1S33. Tynan In reply
denied that ho took any actual part in tho
murders. Subsequent to tho examination
several Scotland Yard mon had an Inter,
vlow with tho publlo prosecutor, who slg.
nlfled to thom his approval of tho active
measures taken by tho English police to
secure Tynan and his associates.
Tynan has appoalod to United Statos
Ambassador Eustls and also to Prosldont
Clovoland, demanding tho protection of
tho United Statos government as nn Amer

tho Irish rtatloual Alliance. .Mimyof tho
callers woro irlshmon who sought Inror
matlon about the arrest of Tynan, Koar
noy, Dell and Mann In Europo upon
charges of bolng tho principals In tho al
leged conspiracy .to kill various crowned
heads.
The story that tho alliance hold a secret
meeting at tho homo of ono of its mem
bers and made nrrangomonts to provide
counsel to defend Kearney and Tynan, and
prevent them bolng taken to England, was
positively denied by Secretary McLaugh
lin. Tho latter says: "No such meeting
was held of tho alliance, either at tho
headquarters or at the homo of any of tho
members. Wo havo not arranged to raise
any money to defend Tynan or any ono
else, and tho story that 880,000 or any othor
sum was raised is false. I mean by this
that the alliance as an organization has
taken no steps In tho matter whatover,
and further, we have no olllolal or unoffi
cial nows concerning tho urrest of Tynan,
Kearney and the others. I may say, how
ever, that i fund will undoubtedly bo
raised to defend tho men and prevent
their extradition to England. Irishmen
all over will subsorlbo to such a fund."
