ciation cemetery this morning. Among the
meanest of thieves are those who roll tho
graves of their decorations.

Emanuel with a beautiful plush rocker as a

unaware of the surprise, was inveigled from
his homo to the place of celebratlou. A short

Michael Weutz, tho Polish undertaker,
moved tho household goods of a family to
South Jardin street yesterday afternoon. Tho
street at tho south endslopes rapidly and It
is difficult to hold a wagon on It oven with
tho best brake. Tho ono Wentz had on tho
wagon failed to hold and in tho confusion two
other men who were riding on top of tho
goods Jumped off. This caused a mattress to
slide down upon the backs of tho horses.
They took fright und Wentz was thrown to
tho ground. Ho sustained a number of
bruises, but was not seriously injured. The
horses woro stopped by several men just as
they were about to leap over tho wlro guard
at tho end of tho street and down the high
embankment to tiio Lehigh Valley railroad.

have recently moved to Hazletou and joined

Stockton cost several thousand dollars to
erect, and it is said to bo ono of tho best
buildings of tho kind in the region.

road was notified in time to prevent any

The Philadelphia & Heading Coal & Iron
Company are at work slushing culm into and
tilling up tho old workings of tho North
Franklin mines at Trevorton, which when
completed, will make it possiblo to recover
hundreds of thousands tons of coal. It is
expected to take at least ono year to accom
plish the work which was started about a
week ago. The places that will be tilled up
were worked probably thirty years ago.

rangements so that tho day shall not pass
