Miss Itcililall, Who Died Suddenly Iiit
Sunday, Hurled To-day.
The funeral of Slay Lilly Beddall, eldest
daughter of George W. and Slary Beddall.
took place at 2 o clock this afternoon from
the family residence, Xo, 0 North Slain
street. Tho attendance was very large and
the display of floral offerings extraordinary'.
The handsome white satin and silver
mounted casket was actually engulfed by
lloral designs, among them "Gates Ajar,"
from tho United Evangelical Sunday school;
vacant chair from SI. L. Kcmmerer's Sunday
school class; broken wheel from Sliss
Anna SI. Dengler's publlcuchoolclaw.brokon
link from Sire. Anstock ; and a harp with
seven strings from the family. The- strings
of the harp represented the children of the
family and the second and seventh were
broken. It was designed by Sirs. J. A.
Guldin. A broken column mis presented
by companions of the deceaed. Tho
services wero hold in tho SIcthodlst
Episcopal church and were conducted by
Kov. I. J. Iteltz, pastor of the United Evan-
gollcal church, Itov. Alfred Heebner, of tho
first named church, assisting. The pull
bearors wero E. C. Mallck, J. O. Thumm,
William Smith, Harry Wertz, William Camp
bell, of Slahanoy City, and Philip Slalcy.
Interment was mado in tho Odd Fellows'
cemetery. Among tho relativos and friends
in nttendanco wero John Wanlrop and
family, of Sit. Carmel ; J. S. Beddall and

COAL WILL BE HIGHER.
Anthracite Coal Companies (live 'otteo of
nn Ailvuneu on May 1.
Tho Philadelphia and Heading and tho
Lehigh Valley Railroad companies issued
circulars In Philadelphia yesterday announc
ing that on Slay 1 they would advance tho
price of anthracite coal 25 cents a ton for all
sizes. Tho Delaware, Lackawanna and
Western gavo notico of a Uko advance, and
its esamplo will bo followed by tho other
New York companies,
Tho prices after April 30 will ho $1 a ton
for stove, $3.75 for egg and chestnut, and $3.50
for grate. It is estimated that tho reports
for the current mouth will show- an output of
3,000,000, which was about that of tho sumo
month last year, although tho sales agents
havo agreed upon an output of only 2,500,000.
Tho spring trado has been dull this year,
but all authorities agreo that tho stock in tho
yards of tho retail dealers is small.

Obituary.
Benjamin F. Slarshall died at 1:40 o'clock
this afternoon nt tho residence of his parents,
James W. and Harriet Slarshall, No. 32
North West streot. Tho deceased had suf
fered from tumors in tho throat for the past
two years and during the last seven months
ho was confined to his bed. Ho was 21 years
of ago on the 13th of December, last. The
young man had a largo clrclo of friends aud
enjoyed an cxcclleut reputation.
Accident at tho Draper.

Gimiektox, April 29. Tho ropo on tho
fifth lift of tho Draper colliery broko to-day
when two loaded cars wero being hoisted.
About 700 feet of ropo went down tho slope
and tho two cars wero smashed to atoms, but
fortunately no person was injured.
