Undoubtedly California ofl'ers inoro genuine
attraction to tho pleasure-traveling public
than any oilier part of tho Amorican conti
nent. Tho faino of its climate is world-wide,
and it is sought even ky Europeans, who find
it uioro charming than their own southern
Mopes. To Americans its worth is too well
known to necessitate, a description of tho
many advantages to bo enjoyed.
Personally-conducted tours via Pennsyl
vania Railroad will loavo New York and
Philadelphia February 12 and JIareh 11, 1S90.
In addition to the many other point, of in
terest visited on tho first tour a stop will bo
niado at New Orleans for the Mardi-Gras
festivities, and four weeks will bo allowed in
California. On tho secoud tour four and one
lialf weeks will bo allowed in California.
An addition to tho magnificent tralu here
tofore used for these tours is a through Pull
man compartment car.
Tho car, which will bo tho very best that
the Pullman Company can supply, will con
tain nine inclosed compartments two draw
ing rooms and heven state rooms and will lie
attached to the special train at Jersey City
and run through to San Diego, Cal., on tho
first tour, and Sau Francisco on tho second.
This will bo tho first ear of its kind to ho
run on a transcontinental train, and that it
will ho thoroughly appreciated by partici
pants in the tours is evidenced by tho fact
that already several of tho compartments
havo lieen reserved.

generally considered a dull season among

know no such period tho may act being
first-class work at reasonable prices. The
