Brigadier Bowne, who opened tho work of
tho Salvation Army in this town ten years
ago, will visit tho local corps aud conduct
anniversary Jiicotlngs on Saturday aud Sun
day, January lbth aud 10th. Brigadier
Bowne first came hero with Gwcnulc, Will
iams, since deceased, and they becamo great
favorites. They worked zealously to es
tablish tho Army and succeeded so well that
the meetings crowded Bobbins' opera house
and many now regular mcmbora of congre
gations give credit to Brigadier (then known
jts Captain) Bowne aud Miss Williams for their
reformation, consequently the reception to
the Brigadier upon her coming visit should
lo an enthusiastic one. Thcro will also bo a
special meeting of tho corps this evening.
It will ,bo conducted by Captain Alli.stcr and
Ueut. Maylur, of the Hazleton corps. All
are invited.
