This week the volunteer firemen of the
state will havo things their own way in tho
city of Reading. For tho first time in sev
eral years Shenandoah will havo a largo rep
resentation on the Held. The Columbia Hce

send at loast fifty fully uniformed men to
participate in the state parade. Wo hope to

Tin: rain has come at lust, but tho people
should not become lavish with tho water
just yot, or growl if tlio limited supply
should bo continued. They should remem
ber that tlio curtailment is not the fault of
tho borough streams or works. The drought
has been the severest experienced in this
stato for many years, and it is only for tho
ultimate weal of tho peoplo that tho borough
authorities maintain moderation in tho supply
of water for tho time being.
THE PRIMARIES AND TICKET,
Probably before this issuo of tlio IIebali
reaches the readers tlio delegates who wcro
elected ut tho Republican primaries on Satur
day will have completed tho work for which
they wcro selected. At all events, much of it
will havo been accomplished and tho nomi
nees named by the Democratic party of this
county on tlio 21st inst. will have a good idea
of who their opponents ut the election next
November will he. Wo trust tho result will
ho as near satisfactory to all voters of tho
Republican party as it is possible to make it,
- uauil that tho nominations will bo so heartily
anV. candidly endorsed by members of the
partythroughout the county that nothing
will bobble to prevent a repetition of the
Itepublicun victories of the last two years.
It is difficult to sco any reason why tho
delegates at work at Pottsvillo to-day should
fail in presenting to their party a ticket that
-will bo entitled to and win tho loyal support
of all within tho ranks and all fair minded
peoplo outside of them. Tho convention is
not made up of the kind of material that
constituted the gathering of tlio Democrats
at tho same place a littlo over
week ago. Tho latter was comprised
of men who may bo said to havo been repre
sentatives of nono but themselves and im
mediate frionds and sympathizers. They

Hlcctrlc Hitters.
Electric Hitters is a medicine suited for any
season, but perhaps moro generally needed in
the spring, when the languid exhausted
leeuiig prevails, when the liver is torpid and
sluggish and tho need of a tonic and altera
tive is leit. A prompt uso of this medicino
has often averted long and perhaps fatal
bilious fevers. No medicino will act moro
surely in counteracting and freeing tho sys
tem from the malarial poison. Headache,
Indigestion, Constipation, Dizziness yield to
Electric Bitters. Only fifty cents per bottle
